So a few times I’ve taken off from stop signs and speedometer has restarted. I think I have a loose wire the power or ground. I used crimp end with bullet connections so I could adjust if I needed to. Everything (except the damn clock) seems to work ok so I guess I’ll solder the connections and shrink tube everything. Anybody have any advice on a thermistor for the spark plug? Check the connection on the spark plug cap. There is a little brass fitting inside the cap that comes loose and sometimes brakes off. I replaced several on mine. Is this an NGK BR8HSA plug? I had a 50. Might need a different size belt. Think one of the manuals called for the wrong one. I cumuted to work for 5 years on a F-act, put 15,000 miles before something happened. Kid fixed it and sold it in a week. Got yelled at by a cager one nite about the lights. They were the low beams. Loved that scoot!

Loved that scoot! I’ve messed with the plug cap several times. That loose brass piece is a PITA. The stock belt was shorter than what I have now but only a smidgeon. The speedometer assembly restarting could be a loose crimped wire where I replaced the cluster. Or it could be the fact that I spent $35 on it instead of $200.

Are you having any trouble starting it?

No. Not typically. Twice it’s quit running at full throttle. Kinda unnerving. I suspect it’s electrical.

A little faster, don’t mind if I do. Serious question though, I bought a bearing with the same dimensions as my original 50cc and I’m concerned about the end gaps on the bearing. I think I should have a bearing that is 5mm wider???

Cool, they make a nice kit..Pin bearing should be OK as it'll still have the rollers within the rod,but a wider one certainly would'nt hurt..

I do appreciate the P/N though Zino. I am only 6 months into scooter life and although mechanically inclined I know (knew?) absolutely nothing about these mini-monster-mother-funkers. I have to double check numbers everywhere and specs to see if I’m blindly buying wrong shit. So far I’ve been lucky.

I’m starting to feel very Brent like. Broke down in the middle of nowhere looking for a friend with a truck. 😢

The Naraku cylinder I’ve been running for 4 months must have swallowed a ring. It’s stuck fast. Won’t budge with kick start. Died coming down a hill, which has happened to me before. I’ve written it off to electrical gremlins in the past. Today it coasted to a stop and then I cranked it once, it “almost” spun properly then quit. Then I tried kicking it. (The start lever not the bike). It spun some then locked tight. Totally tight. I’ve heard of the soft seize before but I don’t think this is it.
