I left the plug in when I pulled engine apart. It’s easier to find a 12mm than the plug socket.

How’s it even get up there? Teleportation?

Did you reuse the old top end bearing?Did any rollers turn up missing or are they all there?Need to check inside the pipe and crankcase verrry carefully so nothing returns to trash your new cylinder...

I had reused the old one when installing the Naraku cylinder. Yes needles are missing. That’s next on my list is to put out an APB for the missing ones.

If they are hiding in the crankcase or the pipe, they WILL come back and haunt you...Dont reuse a pin bearing on a new build!!(guess you already know all of this by now,,,)

Just in case :)my engine woes were caused by overheating but I made it a whole lot worse by not paying attention to the wrist pin clips which wormed their way out.

Ok so I bit the bullet and pulled my engine. Slightly scary stuff. I did find ANOTHER needle bearing floating in the exhaust but none in the crankcase just bits of crapola. (horrible things to write with, they only come in brown) Anyway, being a handy guy and not having a table in my kitchen I made a quick A-frame stand to hold my engine more vertical than horizontal. It did help having it slightly more up in the air. Honestly I don’t know how the hell I even got the Naraku cylinder installed laying on the floor. Horrid. I did also figure out that it is waaaaay easier to put the piston partially into the cylinder aligning the rings with those itty bitty roll pins and then putting the cylinder/piston combo onto the studs. I first tried to do piston install then cylinder over the piston and compressing the rings while lining them up for “re-entry” was killing me. I’m sure there is a nice easy way but I’m not there yet. Ok, update ova. I’m headed into the garage to reinstall the “lump.”

I have installed them like that sometimes. It's easier, especially if you have limited room, like on a vertical engine.

Did you flush out the crankcase with solvent, then turn it upside down to dump the stuff out, then blow it out with compressed air(like 3 times)??

Ok so the holes in the exhaust port aren’t quite the same from the Naraku to the Stage6. I’m gonna have to rework my exhaust/fender mount.

What about slotting the flange holes to allow the pipe to swing into the mount? That one is backwards from yours, but you can see the thought..

Excuse my finger drawing. My flange is slotted like this basically. I’ll try and do some adjustments to the slots since some small trimming there will adjust a lot at the rear.
