So... When are you gonna fire it up for the first time? I wanna know how those gears are treating you before I order them. Lol. Hopefully tomorrow I'm doing a few heat cycles. Then at minimum im riding around the storage unit without the tag. Lol I cant just not ride it at all. Is it a salvage? Or does your state not have titles and tags places? I saw you said dmv appointment. PA has crazy laws for transfering titles from out of state. I always assumed we were the worst.

We do not have a place currently to transfer titles other than the dmv here. Im getting my motorcycle permit as well as titling the buddy.

Slight delay.... The new rear pulley has a boogered up start to the clutch nut threads. I didnt notice before, but it looks like a manufacturing defect. This one didnt come with a nut threaded on. I ordered another one that comes as a whole assembly and I'll just hold onto the clutch and bell for a future bike or something. Swap on the ncy torque driver face and ill be set. I should have tried threading on the nut days ago so i could have seen this early enough to have new parts show up in time for todays delivery. Ughhhhh more waiting!

That's unfortunate, but these things happen. The delay is the killer.
When you get your motorcycle endorsement, it opens up the world, to an even more expensive playground.

Here in CA, AAA can do the title transfers. Don’t know if that’s an option for you.
Build is coming out really nice!

Ive got everything on the motor torqued and ready to be mounted back in the bike. Just need to change out the petcock for manual one I picked up, then its time to heat cycle and make sure the trans isnt shifting before the clutch engages. The electric start gear and and all the parts changed comes out to like 17 ounces total off the drivetrain. Thats massive! Here is a peek at the bar setup ive worked out.

First revs after 2 heat cycles. Temps never went over 200. Not 100% sure what temps it should be at idle and under light load. I just have an idea of whats too hot. Lol

In my toolbag at work (shipyard) i always have a set of jeweler's files and a 6" triangle file. Most threads, aside from Acme threads are cut at 60 degrees. For the clutch nut male threads, you can use a jeweler's triangle file to fix the threads. A lot of times, when working on the boats, the lead/start of the thread on bolts get damaged from someone pounding out the bolt without using a sacrificial nut. That's when the triangle file comes in handy to repair the threads.

It sounds like it is running It's running strong! I couldn't resist taking a fairly gentle ride with a few stabs of throttle. She wants to HAUL!

That is a snazzy looking ride! Color is very cool as well. I'm not usually a mint green fan, but it really shows off the lines. Sounds like it's gonna be an awesome machine. a company in Waikiki is renting the Buddy 50 and the RoughHouse. they also sell them. i've been looking at those for a couple years now. Genuine is a Chicago based company, but the scoots are manufactured in Taiwan. that same rental company used to rent/sell SYM dd50's. made in Taiwan as well, good stuff. I've been working on a roughhouse for a while now. Probably the most built one on the forum(?). They are very nice in terms of build quality. The big sticking point are pipes. Pipes don't fit these things very well outside the Prima pipe, Yasuni Z PGO edition and I believe there's a Leo Vince. But that's it.

Checkout my Roughhouse build thread. I made a bracket in CAD that can be cut with the online laser cutting service SendCutSend for about $29. It works well for my Yasuni R
