Have a spring left over I can find no place for😲

Took old carb off and stripped just to see anything amiss. Noticed gaskets for auto choke.not there. This was a brand new carb. I know she said her dad stripped the carb but if this the problems all along will be very miffed.

It's part of a brake shoe or disc pad that had been left on the ramp by mechanic yesterday 🙂

Looked couldn't see so remembered what I was told decades ago.
Wait till it's dark and look again with a torch. Found within a minute tonight and now back together ready to go on 🙂
