Stock belt is a Mitsuboshi 738 length x 16 width x 30 degree angle 8mm depth . Malossi belts for the Kymco 4t might be a size larger 6113501 743x18x30 9mm depth 6111153 734X18.2 X30 8mm depth these fit the buddy 125 would have to shim front pulley naraku NK900.73 743x20x30 gates has 743x20x30 bando has 743 x20 x30 different angle of 28 gates 748x18x28 Those are the choices I am leaning to the one of the Malossi Belts I can always bolt it on to my future Malossi Order. I have to roll out the mitsuboshi belt to verify measurement . I just need to get a 14mm impact socket so I can take off the clutch . Go with the Malossi belt. You can't go wrong with that quality. Is it a Kevlar belt?

I just measured I Have up to 1 mm on the front and up to 3mm on the back to space it out. What size bando belt are you running on your buddy . And how much belt travel are you getting front and back . I am trying to source belts . Bando is real consistent on there sizing . When you measure like this . www.youtube.com/watch?v=K7oGuQLrGzs&ab_channel=PartsForScootersBelt size… (651 18 30). With the new NCY pulley, I get full travel. With the old oem, I had about 4mm to go up front. The rear has about 4mm unused travel as well.

I just measured my stock belt it is a bando 738x18x30 they make it for pgo
I had a Bando Belt around that measures in at 758 x 17.5 x 28 . At rest the Back pulley has less than 2 mm after tightening up the slack . Looking at that it is just a little to big . 17.5 also needs the front pulley shimmed and I do not have any yet
Finding a belt halfway in between would be a big improvement . Say in the 743 -750 range with a width that is around 17.5 to 19

This is the back pulley with the bando 758x17.5x28 I dropped 4mm on the back. This belt is on the outer edge of what would work for stock variator and would probably work awesome with a variator one size up from stock. It will need to be reshimmed .

I'm wondering if the thinner belt with a different angle will cause a problem with friction in the system? I think Malossi makes some Kymco belts that should work well and are Kevlar.

Finding a Belt that is a size up for the stock variator is not easy. The biggest challenge is how belts are measured is not consistent. I did a little searching on the kymco forums . www.kymcoforum.com/index.php?topic=28762.msg200717#msg200717Seania talks about different belts the stock roughouse belt was larger than his stock belt and the gates belt gates belt pl30302 which list as 757x17x28 the stock people belt he list is a bando 728 18 30 I cannot find the 748 747 belt he is talking about i beleivve he just mistyped referencing this chart The bando 743x20x30 is the one I am dialing in on next. www.teamworld.com.tw/universal/file/788Bando%20Belt%20Catalogue%202015.pdf

Zino do you particularly care about the electric start? If you don't you should swap on the Malossi Multivar or Polini variator. Both require you to remove the electric start components but are a worthwhile upgrade.

After reading ohhbuddys post on here and at modern buddy .
That ncy transmission kit is probably what I build around . Then I can stop chasing my tail trying to find a better belt combo . Paired with the upgraded gears It should give me the take off I am looking for .
Part of me always wants to full on Race Mod stuff so I am looking for all those last little things that add mph and fun factor. I have not ordered parts yet. I am finishing up my build list tonight .

I tried a 743 20 30 on my roughhouse yesterday,.. horrible. I am running the stock torque converter with the malossi multivar. The additional width more than defeated the additional length. The short test ride was so hard on the belt that it covered the fixed half with rubber. It was a cheap belt, but I just wanted to use it to test the size.
Not exactly related but I still have the e-start with the multivar...

Don't you like those stock Malossi "C" clips either Zino? 😉 Would be a lovely street with that spec.

The extra width there could have been the ticket.
