Don't you like those stock Malossi "C" clips either Zino? 😉 Would be a lovely street with that spec. I have a few of them somewhere in my garage when they went flying. I have a real hard time getting them to seat . Yeah I am kinda targetting a low 9000 rpm builds . The Vino's are just so solid running. If I go into a race build I am endlessly chasing higher speed . I need to be alot more familiar with this scoot before I go full on Race .

lerch thanks for the info on the 743x20x30 bando belt
guti ran a zuma malossi beelt that malossi measures at 751x16x8 it actually measures closer to 738 and he didnt get full travel but got great top speed
so here is what we know for stock trans the 20 inch belt is too wide . the 757 bando is on the upper edge of working on stock trans. The 738 Bando is stock So 738 to 757 is the outer range 16 to 18 wide is the ranges that work .
This is what me leaning towards the NCY trans kit . I can just keep the stock belt Plenty of good feedback on the sport to race builds on youtube modern buddy and ohh buddy The Malossi Variator is my second choice . I also am looking at the Naraku Trans Kit.

Scooter works Order NCY golden variator NCY secondary slider 1500 NCY Clutch Springs 1500 NCY Contra spring After looking at a Ohh Buddys Speed 3ntry with the Genuine Buddy ,a couple YouTube Roughhouse builders and some builds of Roughouses on Modern Buddy forum . The NCY Golden Variator is the first choice with great results some upper 50 mph and and breaking 60 mph builds . It measures at 89 mm and they highlight it is lighter than other variators at 17.3 oz. If its lighter Than stock this would help raise rpms my removing weight off the crankshaft much like when we remove the starter clutch. Th NCY Secondary slider is to remove that annoying shift . Dexameths comments today about Torque Driver Ramps was the tie breaker for NCY over Naraku or SSPG. 49ccscoot.proboards.com/thread/28950/torque-driver-steepest-angleI ordered the Springs tensions for the street pipes . That have worked best in the past for my riding style. Medium strength Clutch Springs and Contra I ordered a Malossi torque control Contra seat which preloads the spring and prevents binding give me 4 combos of Contra tension from lightest to heaviest. Stock--Stock with Torsion control--Medium spring--Medium Spring With Torsion control.

Zino I got the longer belt for the Roughhouse. I'm going to put it on later this evening and compare it to the Kevlar Dayco belt I already have.
Hopefully we make some interesting discoveries.

My NCY order came in . After looking the parts over compared to the Polini and Malossi stuff I have on the shelf. The NCY quality is right there for fit and Finish compared to the Italian Brands for the Variator and Torque driver. NCY makes a big deal about being Lighter than the other Brands which should help it spin up better just like when we remove the weight of the starter gear . I only have Minarelli parts to compare but the weight difference is large . The weight shown is the variator with the back plate.

Interesting. Do they all use a similar length, weight drive boss? Don't really get the NCY stuff here. They make some nice looking parts.

I will be using the stock drive boss .
You might already be buying Ncy parts they are just rebadged under one of the other brands .
Much like the Yasuni R is being rebadged by Stage 6 and the TKR turbo is the Stage 6 Street exhaust . Gianelli Go rebadged as Malossi wild Lion and Polini Speed .
fugaziiv from partsforscooters has pointed out Taiwan is making alot of parts for other brands .
After looking at this Variator . They could easily slap a Italian Brand Name on it and mark it up 50%.

Here is how they reduce weight they just extend the guides which extends the ramps .

It would be an interesting data point to compare the size and weight against aftermarket solutions. From my (limited) understanding of CVT's, it seems to me the Malossi would be the "best buy" of the bunch. It offers the largest belt travel area and most likely the best top speed of the group. Of course variator ramp angle, drive face angle and drive boss dimensions all come into play here at some rate and I don't know how that will affect things if at all. As for the weight difference I'm interested to find out if that makes a marked difference in performance. I know there's a PGO "performance" flywheel out there, similar to the NCY kit I use on my Dio. I'm wondering if you will see similar results with a lightened variator.

when I swap variators i wil take side by side photos . Theoretically the Malossi should have and advantage but real world at the level I have built to high level sport build 10 k plus rpms . The polini and malossi setups have given the same top end . My feeling is when you go from 50 to 55 to 60 mph the wall of wind you fight through doesnt let you fully max out the gear ratios . I need more horsepower to break the tie .
For example I have 11 to 1 gears in my Zuma .They were 25 % up grade over stock so I should have went from 48 mph to 60 mph. In reality I picked up 5-6 miles which was 12 % .
When I took off the starter gear my rpms raised 300 rpms just like i was running lighter variator weights so to get the same shift points in my transmission I raised my weights a half gram .
I am going to go very slow with my build one part at a time just so I have a real good handle on the transmission and carb they are both new to me .

My parts are almost all in Added a few things Malossi Parts Malossi Sport 70cc ,Malossi 15/42 gears,g clips ,Malossi Torsion Controller ,Malossi Wrist Pin NCY parts :Torque Driver ,Contra Springs 1000 ,1500 rpm ,Golden Variator ,Clutch Bell ,Racing Clutch,1000,1500,2000 rpm clutch springs Keihin Jets 90,95 Mains and 38 and 40 pilot jets Still waiting on my Trail Tech Temp TTO gauge and 48 inch extension.. Once the Temp Gauge is here next week I will start slowly upgrading. I have put about 300 miles on it so far . So the Stock Cylinder is starting too loosen up . It is now in 75 mpg range for last 2 fill ups. Top Speed is 41-42 I am able to bury the needle more often .

What kind of pipe are you mating to this setup? I know you were shooting for a sport built but this is definitely trending towards the sport/race line now.

Hippo I have 3 street pipes and the Yasuni R in the garage so I have alot to choose from . Upload that CAD template and I might be forced to put the Yasuni on.
I am shooting for a low to mid 9's rpms build .
Did that upsized Belt work for you ?
I found clutch springs that work with the stock clutch polini for yamaha minarelli 245.012 Right now I have the polini greens in and clutch is now engaging at 4300 instead of 3800 like the stock clutch. Probably swap in the Yellows to get closer to 5 k .
The stock clutch engages way to soon .
It also needs lighter weights in the variator to push a few more rpms .
