So I was getting some parts for the kymco 50 4t at a local scooter shop and I noticed he’s got a used Eton Beamer 3 for sale. A little rough around the edges but not too bad overall. He claims it runs, but the battery was down and I didn’t have the time to Jack around with getting him to charge it up so I didn’t hear it run yet. From my understanding this is a 2t 50cc minarelli clone right? So would that be the 1pe40qmb engine? Basically what’s in a zuma? He wants either $500 or $700, can’t remember which cause we talked about several different bikes and prices. But either way, I know there’s at least $100 leeway. I’m thinking about offering $400/500, that is if someone here assures me it the right engine for building a bad ass little 2 stroke. I still plan on doing the wild efi 150 conversion to the kymco over the winter, but after seeing some 2t guys riding power wheelies at will and going 60+ mph top end I’ve got to have one. Honestly I’m having more fun riding scooters than I’ve had riding big bikes lately. Im hooked.

It is a well made bike, has what we call a chinarelli engine (1E40)long case.Has 13.55 gearing, small spline crank,10mm piston pin,a funky DC CDI with a headlight control module, gearing is a bit hard to find, most of the Minarelli parts swap in in the engine and CVT area..

If you build something with much more power, I use the E-Ton primary drive shaft along with a Stage6 secondary kit to get ~11:1 instead of ~13.5:1 final drive ratio. The stock gears do make it feel quite powerful with just a big bore kit and a little CVT tuning though. Did that for a customer and was surprised to get the wheel light/up a little with just a Polini sport kit, vari and tuning. Not sure if the E-Tons have them in there stock, but you should be able to use a 3 bearing supported primary drive shaft. I've never done this swap on an E-Ton, but it should work as long as wheels don't use a different spline than other Chinarelli engines.
