Today put on new fuel tap and checked it didn't leak then fuel line and filter turned on petrol and hey presto carb leaking due to corrosion when it didn't leak yesterday. New carb ordered.
New starter solenoid on but starter only spins if leads put direct to it but not going to check decades old wiring and switch yet that can wait.

Today sorted for MOT. Only had one problem which was user error. Didn't realise it had gone on reserve. One indicator to tighten up to stop spinning round and had to space out fuel tap so tap wouldn't hit frame will order the proper on later. Get insurance in a bit and road test tomorrow morning after washing it.    |

Today I washed the scooter got insurance sorted and will road test later today after I have changed carb on other son's motorcycle 30 miles away. Why can't he live closer 🙂  |

Today I freed off the sliding pins on the caliper for tomorrow's MOT and damn thread went. Luckily I got a heli coil kit handy. Before coming back from town after road testing bike I stopped for coffee and walked out to take a picture and noticed traffic warden and and a wpc so thought best disappear with no MOT or tax.🙂    |

Don't drop them because you know what happens when you bend over in the police department or cells.

Must only happen with you colonials FrankenMech. Ours in the old days in my distant yoof use to be very nice to you in the cells. They would put the thin rubber mattress on top of you before they bashed you with there truncheons. Apparently the bruising didn't show if the police doctor showed up. Not that I would know told this by a friend in Aldershot. I was a good little angel me. |
