The Polini 2 shoe I have (bell is broken atm) hooked up really well also. I would also like to check out the Dr. Pulley HIT!

Really mine hooks supper hard... That's odd spaz.?? Isn't the hit almost the same as the stae6?? I ran the Stage6 with a Malossi wing bell and could not get it to hook up anywhere as good as the Polini. I tried many combinations of springs and weights in the shoes as well. No dice. I won't say that I hate it, but I don't like it. I was going to get the Delta, but then I heard all the rave about the HIT. Did a little reading about how it works and it seems pretty cool. I hear it's a pita to set up, but I'm hoping that it'll be worth it.

Yeah, that is a pretty good price, but still a lot of $$$ to lay down for a clutch.

I saw that review, and it is what prompted me to try the Stage6. To me the mechanics of the S6 clutch look similar and therefore might operate similar to the Delta clutch. The Dr. Pulley HIT clutch looks to me to be an entirely different animal. I could be wrong.

I hear it's a pita to set up, but I'm hoping that it'll be worth it. I have tried about 3 S6 setups so far. It is not grabbing hard enough yet. I am using the orange springs, 2 brass weights in each shoe at the outer edge, and around 3/4 of the spring tensioner. It is engaging around 5500RPM at the moment. I guess it is also new, and not bedded in yet, so I will have to give it some time.

I ended up with red springs, tension at the highest setting and the weights set in the furthest position. I guess I could have bought more weights to fill all the slots, but I figured that it would bring my engagement point too low. I wanted 7500-8000 rpm.
I really don't hate the clutch. I especially like how easy it is to adjust. It just wouldn't grab like I wanted and I didn't like that. I want the damn thing to hook tf up!

I'm with spaz on this one as well. I've ran every combo imaginable on the S6 MKII clutch, and it never hooked as hard as I wanted it to. I ran the HIT clutch all summer and its in a whole other league compared the S6. I had it engaging around 7500-8000 rpm and it hits and holds WAY better then S6 ever did. This explains the HIT clutch pretty good, it's a lot different then the Delta and S6 www.unionmaterial.com/Instruction%20for%20HIT-V1-mini.pdf

Latest setup with the S6 clutch. Orange springs, 3 brass weights in each shoe, and just over 1/2 tension adjustment. The initial launch is better than it has ever been, however I think it is still slipping a bit too much coming up to speed. I dont know if it will eventually bed into the bell and grab just a little better or not. It may be this clutch bell from the Vino is not a good match to the S6 clutch. The friction pads hang out the back of the bell more than I would like. I guess I could try to roughen up the bell a bit, or try to buy a better one.
As I was tuning the clutch I was also lightening the weights in the variator, little by little I got the RPM up to 10800 but noticed I lost some top speed. I checked the travel on the variator and sure enough there was about 1/4 of the variator not being used. So the heavier weights will be going back in for now. I am using the white malossi spring that came with the OR kit and it is pretty soft. I am not sure if they make a softer spring for the OR or not, I think they are a special size?
