Nice man, thats some good speed for a low end 70! Like the bars, i have a stem. BUt dont have any bars. Makes me want to swap mine! For generic 70cc kit and a 300lb payload it is pretty good!

Did you do any work to that 70 before you bolted in on? If not done already if you widen the exhaust port you'll wake it up, 65% cord width would be good. You'll get some more speed out of it soon.

Nothing but the squish IIRC. Do you have any links about doing that? I am good with tools, but not so much with math and such.

The rings for my streetrace motor that belongs in this scoot came today. I have a used piston from another kit to go with the new rings, and a HPI mini rotor iggy I picked up for cheap from treatland a few sales ago. I am going to use the streetrace cylinder I cracked and then repaired a while back, after I open the exhaust port up to 65% as recommended by others here. The crank has a bit of play in the big end bearing, no surprise there considering how it has been abused for the last couple seasons. Also going to install put the Yasuni C16 I picked up from a member, and hope everything lasts just one more season. durations are 190/130 squish is .85mm - 70mm depending where you read it. I might raise the roof and bump the durations up just a hair. Gonna need some help setting up the mini rotor iggy. The flywheel is not keyed. I have never set one up. Do I need a micrometer piston stop thing, and a timing light?

But keep an eye on compression, that could become fairly high! About the HPI ignition, here's an english manual www.hpi.be/downloads/068_1C_068_eng.pdfThis is for setting up for a base setting, so the engine will at least run. After that a timinglight would be handy.

Lucass2T Thanks for the links! I should be able to set the squish wherever I want using the head 190mech step cut for me. What should compression be kept under? I usually run 92 (R+M)/2) pump gas.

I ran my metrakit sp3 (stage 6 racing) on 95RON with a 0.7mm squish. It got quite hot since the pistontop concaved (initially a flat top piston) but it never soft seized or seized up or anything.
I dunno the upper limit for compression. When you run it on a 0.7mm squish and it starts pinging you should mill out the combustion chamber. You can leave the squishband as is.
