You will find that cutting the case like i showed you there will make a massive difference Dont worry about the lowering of crankcase compression its not an issue with the modern pipes we have they have such good scavenging they will actually open the reed block as well. While opening the reed block is a good thing if you didnt need to then you would get more gain again. Tightly compressed cases have less lowe end torque than a more open case and a very narrow power band all good for a cvt but the they dont actually make any more up top than a normal case so its a case of no gain what so ever When you consider the weight of air which is huge you see the need to keep the flow headed towards and up the transfers. Every time you try and change the direction of air it loses some of its momentum and since you have already paid for that momentum it doesn't make sense to do this

Crank arrived today; Stock shaft 72mm ,new shaft 78.2mm,stock case 73.5mm,, Opened the gear case tonight to get a stock gear count, primary 13/52,secondary 13/44; If anyone knows where I can find some up gears that look like these, please let me know! Hope to start opening the cases for the 45mm shaft in the next few days, will post pics, then I'll do the 'trench cut' mod that Wax was so kind to show us...

Crank arrived today; :spin: It's so pretty I think you should just leave it out of the scooter and post a picture of it every week.

That is a sick looking crank. Makes the stock one look so cheap.

Opened the gear case tonight to get a stock gear count, primary 13/52,secondary 13/44; If anyone knows where I can find some up gears that look like these, please let me know! Looks an awful lot like gears from a Triton would fit. My Tritons are 13/44 secondary like yours, but 16/ primary. I only have pics to try and count the teeth. It looks like it would be 16/5X... maybe 16/52 instead of 13/52? 16/52 would be 3.25:1, and 13/52 would be 4.08:1.

When I was preparing to build T1 I ordered a new primary drive shaft and gear because I was afraid there was too much slop there and it may have been worn. Turns out it's fine, but I replaced it anyway since I had a new one. I still have the old old 16T sitting around. I'll send it your way tomorrow morning. Maybe it'll work for you.

If this does work at least we know a couple of models that can swap gears cheap. If Vento's site was still up, the driveshaft only cost me I think $15. That would make for a very affordable upgear for folks in your situation. Same deal for Triton owners that want deep gears. Just gotta find sites that sell the stock parts. I did see that PFS carries the 13T for about $30. Still not bad for a gear change when you look at what they normally cost.

I think my drive shaft is a 13 count? got it wrote down somewere? The gears and trans look the same and im sure the gears are the same between the CPI and the Vento Minarelli. Not 100% sure, but 99.9995% anyway. Wont you have to change the other gears to make a different driveshaft count work? I have extras i will count for ya..
Man that crank is pretty! How much for that sucker? The splines are the same to huh? Sweet! Looks good! And that looks like the better stock CPI crank in the pics too, lol! The one in Skeedrs first motor might make a good boat anchor, on a cheap boat!
