Well, the CPIs and Ventos working together wouldn't surprise me. After all, my cases are stamped "CPI". Not sure about the 13T and the 16T working without swapping the other gear. That's why I keep saying if and maybe. You can see the CPI stamping on the bottom right of the case half on the right. There's another stamp on the other case, I think back by the brake lever.

Said the heck with all my night work and got back on the "103"! Cut the crankcases to fit the 45mm stroker shaft,final cut size is 79.9mm; Down loaded pics that Wax posted elsewhere and started roughing out his 'trench cut' mod;

A few more" Wax trench cut" pics; As you can see a bit more epoxy and finish work is needed!Plan on fabing a wedge shaped reed spacer to direct the charge towards the transfer tunnels..

Did a rough and quick port timing check tonight,looks like this NCY cylinder was made for a 42mm stroke..Exhaust duration is 182 degrees,transfer duration is 134 degrees,boost duration is 130 degrees,piston is about 1mm out of the bore at TDC...Will post more after I think about these numbers a while....

I looked back at the link you sent for the auction and they never specified. Carlos lists different cylinder heights now, but when I got my first kits from him some time ago he told me they work with 42-45mm stroke. Well yeah they can, but it's kinda misleading. Those numbers aren't far off of what I got running a stock stroke sport kit with a 5mm spacer (184/138) which is kinda surprising to me. Nothing you don't already know but just from stats from Bell that transfer duration is best suited for 11,000-12,000 RPM. A little much for a low rev cruiser. Unfortunately, T1 never ran long enough for me to know how those long durations really work on a street scoot.

I had a thought,decking the crankcase would be a lot easier than turning a cylinder flange,if I swapped jugs later,it'd be a matter of making a spacer..What do ya'll think about this??

If the flange is a lot harder to machine it makes sense. It will be annoying if you ever get a jug intended for 45mm knowing that you coulda just bolted it on. Looks like there would be plenty of beef there to handle decking the cases.

It will only be around 1-1.5mm,seems like industry standard caters to stock stroke,if ya stroke it,you're on your own to figure out what to do..

Well, most people aren't going to touch the crankshaft if they don't have to so it makes sense to cater to stock stroke. I'm glad to be trying to install a 45mm crank in T2, but if it never tore up I was just fine with keeping the stocker. It would be interesting to know the percentage of folks that BBK their scoots and then to know the percentage that do stroker cranks. I would have to imagine the crank is a pretty darn small percentage.

Bet most that install strokers never check port timings,thus never get full power from all the money they spent!!

I know I didn't check port timings on my first 52mm big bore kit that was wrong right when I got T2. I milled the deck because the piston sat a a couple mm below it, installed it, and wondered why it had so many problems. :no:

After a think session and rechecking the port timings,I'll cut 1mm from the cylinder base,should put me at 130 transfer,then the exhaust will be cut to 183-185,maybe widened a bit too.Got 'on the road 'jobs all weekend,might have some time next week to get back on it again...

Everyday is not a good day...After working 2 ten hour days this weekend I decided to do some '103' work tonight..Knew the port timing was off,chucked it in the lathe to cut 1mm off the base; All went well,base cut nicely; Took the cyl home to make another check,DARN!I figured the wrong way!Now I need to make an aluminum spacer to cover my mistake and get the timings right..Spacer fab builds real good arm muscles Brents gear came in today also,THANKS BRENT!!,here is a pic; Its a lovely piece,but it needs a smaller idler gear to mesh.At least I've got 1/2 of my up gears.. Maybe tomorrow will be a better day :spin: :spin:
