Im currently at page 20 of the topic, it read like an horror novel. This little monster has to be in the top 10 worst piece of chicken crap that ever came out of a chineese scoot factory.
I'm about to do a second swap on my 50->125 ride. Going for a 150 cc longcase with a bigger tire. From what i have learn from you in this topic alone, i will have a lot of work checking out all them thing you did on yours, so that i can be sure mine is working great.
I think we should pay to read about your work on scooters. I think you're one of the top 25 scooter mecanic i know of. (But then i know of less then 25)

I was going to take the TaoTao in town to drop off some stickers to the post office, but when I hit the starter button nothing happened. The other day I hit it once and nothing happened, but then it fired up. I thought maybe the brake switch was going to need attention soon, but didn't mess with it at the time.
I took the truck to town and came back. When I stuck a probe from the multimeter into a connector on the starter relay it tried to start. I figured that must mean the connection is bad.
I removed the female pins from the connector, bent the tab in there that pushes against the male pins from the other connector, and reassembled. Starts fine now. Kinda weird that of all the things on there a connection I never fool with gets loose.

I rode around for a couple of hours tonight. I like the feeling of the front now. Still works... until I hit an abrupt bump. I guess I gotta take a little more out of it. Tonight was the first night I rode kinda normal since the new pegs and I hit my feet on the ground a couple of times. Just my heels, but they just aren't going to be a practical/safe mod for a hard rider. I really like the comfort, so I'm keeping them.
I left one red light and looked over and a guy on a bicycle was going past me. lol Stockish 4Ts just aren't made for fat guys, but I still have fun with it so I can't complain I suppose.

So you are saying the guy on the bicycle cut a better light than you. Lol I think he cheated and started moving before the light, but still he was beside me for 60ft. Then he went down a grass hill and across a car lot and disappeared as I locked up my rear brake for a stop sign. lol

I have at least 3 BBKs here, including the Naraku 52.4mm w/head, and about 2-3 other big valve/performance heads, air filters, exhaust, cam, gears, variators.... but that will all come in time. If I just wanted to be fast, I wouldn't be on the 4T at all.

I'm gong to finish my work bench table today and hope to get it up on it and go over it today.

I rode the TaoTao into Delaware the other night, about a 60 mile ride. I think I need to stop going to one area. I was riding along and some older Lincoln Town Car came up behind me and started flashing their high beams as I was making a left turn. I turned and they flashed their lights repeatedly. I got over to the right the best I could thinking maybe they just wanted to pass. Then they stopped hard and backed into someone's driveway to turn around and went on their way the opposite direction. [/img] What's odd is within 1 mile of that spot, I've had 4 different incidents in the last month. First was a guy high beaming me in the truck after I passed him (would turn them on and off for oncoming traffic so he was aware of it), second was some car that laid on the horn and flashed the high beams when I went past them on the shoulder, then last weekend I misjudged the one red light with a camera in that town and I expect a $112.50 ticket in the mail anytime, and then the Lincoln the other night. The ticket is my fault, the rest I have absolutely no idea what the problems were. I even decided to stop when one guy high beamed me in the truck to see if he wanted to talk about it, but he took off. I've tried to think of anything I was doing wrong and I've checked the vehicles to make sure no lights are out or anything weird and I'm lost as to why people within that 1 mile don't like anything I drive. I have at least 3 BBKs here, including the Naraku 52.4mm w/head, and about 2-3 other big valve/performance heads, air filters, exhaust, cam, gears, variators.... but that will all come in time. I'm gong to finish my work bench table today and hope to get it up on it and go over it today. Could be carb tuning or something in the CVT. If it sputters when you crack the throttle, that's probably the accelerator pump. Lots of people have trouble with that. Mine does it unless I tune the idle mixture to run lean, and still will do it occasionally. I recommend a 47mm BBK. NCY and Naraku are good quality brands, but you can probably find much cheaper ones. Some folks here have used kits they found for about $50 on eBay and are happy with them. Don't go beyond 47mm unless you don't mind bearing failures and replacing crankshafts regularly or plan to buy an upgraded crank like the Naraku HD or a stroker.

The previous owner keep saying he had a 75cc? bbk added to the bike, but I'm not sure if he did. I would think the scoot would average around 40-45 if one had been added? [72cc] Tonight the scoot was at it's slowest 20's up hill and 37 top speed on level surfaces.
Strange.

Sounds stock unless it's out of tune or not functioning 100%. I'd at least check before buying a BBK.
