I picked one up for 250 $ 2 weeks ago. I have it stripped all the way down. It was neglected over the years and needs some tlc. I have a few questions about the engine I am building. I has a running stock engine. I have bought a race/sport bbk 70cc kit. I haven't got A pipe yet but plan on running a leo zxr pipe. Will the stock carb keep up with this setup? I have read they come with a 14mm dellorto but this bike came with a warlbro carb. I am going to get new reeds as well. This is my first moped build so I would be greatful for any information you guys have.

I would like to ride it a few times a week about 20 miles round trip. I am familiar with 2 strokes and would like to get about 8 hp out of it. Thanks again for your input

The zx is a good pipe stock carb should work of jetted proper. A 19 or 21mm phbg dellorto race clone from eBay would be a nice compliment to your build you can get them for around 45 bucks. Depending on the kit I'd guess you would be around 10hp or more with that build. 20 mile round trips should be no problem

Haven't used one but I would guess that like most of the cheaper pipes its more a stock or sport cylinder pipe, not for a race cylinder? But would probably work just not as well as a decent pipe.

The phbg 19 and 21 should fit stock intake and they use a screw on adapter that you can use with the stock airbox. What bbk did you get

It is the on e usmcdoc was selling. He said he was runing a technigas r on his. I dont know what brand but he said it was Taiwanese and agressive high rpm kit. It is likely in the future I will build a stroker and go lc. But for now I just want a decent bike to haul a little a$$ on.

LC+stroker for a good setup is a lot if money. You can't throw a stroker crankshaft with a cylinder which is meant for stock stroke. BBK from autotech355 I got excellent results from those and I use them since +3 years.
I don't like technigas exhausts as they rust fast and aren't the best performers, better put a little more money and get a better exhaust. Yasuni R are pretty expensive, but great for a street build which doesn't rev +10K.
Or even a Stage6 pro replica, but it's dead below 8K. Leovince are nice but are more oriented to be used on a oem 50cc cylinder...

I agree its a lot of money. I just want to get something together that I can scoot around on. It will definitely be faster than my 72cc 4 stroke . I hope it will at least run with 150cc 4 stroke

Doc has had good results with that kit a tg or zx pipe should be fine the stage 6 pro rep might be dead down low but I'd use one if I got a deal on it. I really like the zx. If the cvt tune is good beingdead down low isn't a big deal

Getting new tires on was a serious pain! Getting the old dry rotted ones off not so bad. Man, I tried putting propane and still couldn't get them to seat. I eventually soaped the hell out of them and put a small ratchet strap. After multiple attempts they started holding air.

I am trying to get a pipe. I think the one I need is the leo vince 4077r. Can someone confirm this? I have a horizontal ac jog. If anyone else wants to recommend what I should search on ebay please let me know. I am familiar with atv and mx world. I am wondering if the leo vince is like the fmf pipe? Not great for anything, just decent for everything? Thanks for your input.

You can put a long case pipe on a short case motor with extra spacers at the mount but can't go the other way because the pipe would be to close to the tire. So when you are looking for a pipe for a jog the jog (shortcase) and zuma (longcase) will both work. The zx and zx r are both good pipes the dyno runs I've seen on them they make good power that builds strong and drops off at about 9500 so you don't have to worry about the stock crank. With the power the zx makes you set the clutch to grab just before the belt shifts and it will pull through. The pipes that are dead down low are a little harder to get the cvt set up but once rpms are up they are all good

I have messed with cvt tuning on my 4stroke moped. Man it can make or break the bike! Albeit it does have a wider powerband than a 2 stroke. The 2 will definatly make more power, just have to tune the cvt to use the power. Sound right? Thanks mofus for the help.I will have pics up on monday when I get to a pc. The bike is looking pretty sick IMO. I blasted the frame and wheels. Then painted by the frame satin black and the wheels yamaha blue with blue handle grips.
