Here's the problem.

Here's the cylinder at BDC. Still a good cross hatch. There are a couple straight lines by the exhaust port but it's smooth. Can I use ultra gray with this o-ring? I'm thinking of a thin coat. Used copper spray last time.

I've only one o ring head and never had a problem with it. Some things to consider, is the head warped from over heating, do you tighten the nuts evenly in a sequential order? Like a car wheel, tighten one a bit then move to the far nut. Just a few ft pounds each till u get to 15-18# or whatever it is. Just some things to consider

Thanks Nelson. I've tightened the nuts in the correct way. This time I let it sit over night and ran it up to temp and let it cool down and retorqued. Seems good now. No problems getting the revs up but not seeing that super hard launch I did at first. Got some tuning to do. If I set the springs to tight it shifts before launch, too loose and the revs aren't up enough. Have to find a happy spot.

I got the head sealed up and it's running great. Hits 10.5 rpms real quick. As soon as I can look down at the tto tach. Clutch is working well. The front end isn't getting as light on launch as I felt before but it's grabbing and starting to shift like it should. Coming back on the throttle the power is instant. Think I can start thinking about an OR and crank up build for another long case I think I'll have coming. These revs scare me with the stock crank. Anyone have any opinions on wether to go with a 41.4 stroke versus stock? I'm thinking a little case work and a Stage 6 Mkii pro race with my C16. I haven't seen large spline 41.4 cranks and I'd like to be able to swap the OR between motors. Have to get a kit(boss and back plate) and fixed pulley(or drill) for large spline so I could get an extra small spline fixed pulley if I had to.

I wish I could afford a nice pipe for my bike, yasuni are really sweet. Best bet in my case is build a pipe which I plan on doing soon.it will be a long process but worth it. i run a Doppler endurance on my 70 and absolutely love it. I picked it up new on eBay for $100 but u can get new for $180 I think. Scootertuning.ca has nice parts. The top racing are my next choice.as for stroke u could pick up a few cc's but even more is u can get more duration.

Brian sent me a couple PDFs of 2t tuning books. I really need to sit down and read them. I don't understand it all. Building a pipe would be sweet but above my skill set. I have been toying with the idea of getting a used welder and trying to learn but I'm not there yet. What is the benefit of increased duration? I'm assume ports open longer for more mix? Trying to relate it to cams and valves from my small block days

Yea, port tuning is the equivalent of cam timing and valve sizes of a 4 stroke. Opening and closing at specified time to determine what rpm range your engine will make the most power. Only the pipe is way more important on a 2t because it must operate in unison with porting. You always port to pipe not other way around. Decide what rpm range u want to run buy the pipe and port cylinder accordingly

Hey Dave if you get a large spline overrange kit and then build a small spline motor I have a spare small spline overrange variator I would swap for a large spline. Just a thought.

Of course you do. Lol! I was hoping to have something to swap back and forth. The nice thing about the Stage 6 variator I have is it comes with both. Thanks Brian. May take you up on that.

A new motor was wait for me when I got home today. Well not exactly new but it's all there minus the heads of a couple cvt bolts that were snapped off. Guess that slipped the mind of the seller but not wanting those broken bolts to be lonely I snapped off three more. Lol. I used pb blaster and heat but the corrosion between the two metals was to much. I can fix it with a drill and tap. [a href="http:// "]http://[/a][/URL]
