Could be somethin wrong with ur float needle. Or ur float could have degraded or some gas could have seeped into the inside or something causin it to not actually float. Remove the float and drop it into a little jar of gas to see that it actually does float.

After taking the carb on and off and adjusting the float I think I got that problem solved. So I put the shroud on and went to bolt the pipe bracket to the case and those no longer line up. I got it running on the side stand( no center stand) and hit the gas a little too much and it took off with me beside it. Almost super manned it until I remembered to let go of the throttle right before I was in the street. I started in the garage. As I let go and made sure nobody was watching it died and won't fire again. Maybe it's telling me to count by blessings and take a break. Did another compression test and it was 150. Any thoughts?

I just did another compression test because I didn't have the throttle wide open on the past one. Now it's 180. Wow!

A pic of the scoot when I got it being held together with wire ties. Then with new body work. Attachments:

Check for damage or debris on the float needle. I ran into that on a 4t carb, the float needle had gunk on it and wouldn't close so gas just poured out when the engine was running (vacuum fuel pump). If I had a straight fuel line it would have emptied the gas tank.

I don't understand why but I was thinking with the deltoro that's on it and the stage 6 choke cable that I'd be pulling the lever out but it's the opposite. It wan't to run with the lever extended and it pours fuel when it's released. Am I that dumb or is my running that off?

When the lever is pulled it should be opening the passage to allow enrichment and when released it should block the passage so additional fuel doesn't enter the airstream. I'm still thinking something is up with the float system.

A pic of the scoot when I got it being held together with wire ties. Then with new body work. Very nice scoot! Do you still have the factory front panel?

Thank you. I tossed the front panel. It was in 3 pieces held together by wire ties. I have the original head light and a few other panels.

I've got some jets on the way and I'll check the floats again. I've never had a problem with a new carb other than getting the jetting right. I'm pulling vacuum from the nipple on the outflow side of the carb nearest the manifold for the vacuum petcock. Is this correct?
