That is correct.

Okay, carb is off again. Here is a pic of the float. The line or seam in the middle of it is slightly tilted an if I push on it I can make it level but it has resistance and I'm not sure about bending on it. Hope I'm making sense. Attachments:

Height looks OK. You can try to see if the float will seal off the fuel inlet. You can do it with a liquid or with low psi air. It should let fluid pass when held right side up until you move the float to where it is in the pic and then it should stop flow.

Thanks. I'm going to try that. I also just realized the fuel line I got from the auto store is 1/4". Should be 3/16". Would that be an issue if it weren't clamped down tight?

Okay. With help from the wife I did the test and the floats sealed and released.

I noticed in your picture there appears to be a rubber cap on one of the 2 vent tubes. I believe the vents are to be left open. I dont know if having them capped would cause the problem you are having though. Is the carb float bowl sitting level when you have the carb installed? If you can, take a picture of the carb installed with all of the hoses connected.

There are 2 of those that I capped. I figured they were vacuum. I'll remove them and reinstall and check level. Thanks.

Good eye oldgeek! 2stroken is out playing now, well allot closer anyway! It will start, but not run very long with those plugged
Cant get any fuel with those plugged. Its like trying to pure gas out of the can with the vent shut.

SWEET!!! Thanks Oldgeek! It pulls hard! No missing to 40 before I had to let off in the neighborhood. It's Sunday and I live in an h.o.a. Have to get ready to go to work but I'll be back running and figuring out away to mount the pipe now that it doesn't line up. Sometimes it's so simple I look beyond the obvious. Attachments:

Great catch Scott! I was looking at the float and never paid attention otherwise.

Ha! I get lucky every now and then Next time you have the bowl off, remove and discard the round brass washer with the holes that is under the main jet. I read somewhere that it can cause intermittent lean conditions. As for the pipe, mine stuck out way too far, and 190mech told me to just slot the flange a bit where the pipe attaches to the cylinder so you can swing it around a bit. It worked great!

Excellent idea. Again I was overthinking it. Must be because I'm old and cynical and don't believe anything could be so simple. Thanks again.

take the float off and between the pivots you will see a small hole with an acorn looking thing in it, looks like a plumb bob with sometimes a spring loaded plunger on the other side. The float rides up into this and it rises and cuts off the fuel flow. You may have a tiny bit of debris between the valve and the brass seat that it seats into so the fuel flow is not being cut off even though float height is ok. Take out the acorn carefully and inspect the seat and the tip of the acorn to see if there is any rubbish or nicks in the seating surfaces.
