Cvt parts arrived! Ran the vari with the 4.5 and 5 gram rollers and stock springs. Both had better and smoother acceleration. The 4.5 have me 55mph @ 10,100rpm while the 5 have me 52 @ 9,500 rpm. Change to med clutch springs and the hard torque spring. 4.5 grams 52 mph @10,300 and 5.5 gram at 9800. It's windy and gusty today and cold(59) brrr. So it's hard to judge speed results because of wind. I have about a half inch left on the variator that isn't being used. Any suggestions. Attachments:

I'd go back to the medium spring or stock and then dial it in. Sounds like stock should work. One reason I do like using aftermarket springs though is that you can buy the same spring again. Stock varies sometimes, but if you use a Stage 6 medium or Hoca 1000 or whatever, you can buy that same spring again. Could be useful later. Usually I go with the softest spring that gives me choices with weight. I don't want to use a stock spring if I have to use my lightest weights to get in the ballpark. I'd rather use a little stiffer spring and have weights lighter and heavier for future adjustments if needed. Always easier to swap the rollers later than springs. I only go with really stiuff springs if the belt slips. Makes it easier to service the CVT without a really stiff contra.

I thought the vari was coming with a medium so I ordered a heavy. Well the vari came with a heavy. Now I have two.

Went back to stock torque spring. 5.5 gr 53mph @ 9800rpm. Mix of 5 and 4.5 gr 54mph @ 10k rpm. Quick to about 45 then slowly climbs. Hoping the c16 will get me a lot faster quicker. Still stock pipe.

Didn't even realize it was still the stock pipe. It should really come alive with the C16.

I hoping so Brent. I figured I'd be retuning everything but figured I'd be closer by starting now. I have a 95 main in now and it's a bit rich. I have plenty of larger jets. The heaviest rollers I have are 5.5 grams. I have the s6 strong torque spring and heavy clutch springs. Do you think I'll need a 1k and 1.5k torque spring and heavier rollers?

More cvt tuning. Stiff clutch springs, stock torque spring and 5.5 gram rollers. Great low end and pulled strong to 45. Kept going up a little slower to a max 56 mph wot. Still stock pipe. Only 3mm of the line I drew on the variator face left with 1mm spacer in. Attachments:
