You could go to an ac system but I'm not sure what would be involved. I'll post pics of an ac cdi and plug and a dc setup

Don't know if the links worked or not but if they did the 3 wire connector with 2 lose wires is ac. The stator with 6 copper coils and one yellowish coil is ac. The 4 wire connector and 12 pole stator is dc from a vino. I don't have pics of the Eton dc stuff but intend to switch my Zuma to the vino dc setup and upgrade my Eton to the higher output 12 pole dc setup. Hope this is of some help to someone Brian

I havent had the flywheel off of either, but my stator has a four wire connecror and one single wire, more closely resembling the ac setup.

Other then location of sensor, is there a performance increase with an inner rotor ignition? Since I wont be spending any $$$ for a while, because I am saving for another block/ better crank I have time to research ignition and other performance upgrades. It'll be a couple months, but I would feel a lot better with a crank designed for the higher revs of the Polini kit. Eventualy, I will be able to get a pipe so that kit can breath properly. These scoots are amazing as to what can be done to those tiny power plants.

Thanks for fixing my pics Brent. The inner rotor ignition has less rotating mass so the engine can Rev up faster but they have very little charging power for lights. I haven't looked inside my Eton yet but an ac stator has one Coil to charge the cdi inside the Flywheel the dc stators don't. I'll have to check the plug configuration on my Eton

Well, my nephew got his kart privelages back, so I had to pull the miki off, and switch to the donated stocker with 80main, no snorkel in stock air box. Although the stock is just slightly smaller, it seems supierior. It has a more responsive feel, and seems to generate more power. The throttle response is sharper, and more pronounced. I am not sure how ot leaked last time it was installed, but so far it hasn't leaked at all. Perhaps the float was sticking on the cork gasket I made for a bowl seal, IDK. I did trim the cork this time, also polished any rough spots I found inside the barrell and around where the carb.seals in the intake. Runs better.

Also, where is the best place, onkine to order rear brake shoes for a ten inch tire? Mine are wearing out quickly, they were kinda bad to start with. Thanks for any advice.

Today I was finaly able to change the clutch and contra springs! I replaced my old, soft, used up stock springs with the yellow (1500rpm? ) ones from 90GTVert. I haven't had time to test ride it yet, but will tomorrow. From just starting it and revving, I may change the clutch springs out for the 2k ones also from 90. I would like to thank everybody.who helpedme with this build. I would also like to thank the creator of this forum 90GTVert; props to you for building the best place on the web. This forum has linked hundreds of scoot owners/tuners all over the.world together in one place. You guys have amassed a very large liberary of technical knowledge and user expieriance, without which many of our scoots would still be in the garage, in pieces!lol Thanks EVERYONE. I will keep updating periodicaly. Chris

Also, where is the best place, onkine to order rear brake shoes for a ten inch tire? Should be the same for most rear drums, or at least my Chinese clones with 10" wheels seem to use the same as the ones with 12" wheels. I ordered a set from Scrappy years ago and got shoes for a 139QMB. I see some list the 139QMB and the minarelli as the same thing. Think the ODs are the same, but the top pin is different. Minarelli should have a groove to line up the pin and shoes, 139QMB doesn't and I don't like the fit without it. Thought maybe it was a fluke and ordered again a while later, same shoes. Not sure who has good ones for sure, but I prob wouldn't try Scrappy again.

Just out of curiousity,do ya'll suggest a change of roller weights to compensate the change of spring tensions? When it warms up a little today I'll be testing. Can't wait to get a good ride in. Thanks for the info on the brake shoes.

If it's in tune and then you change the spring to a stiffer one you'll need to use heavier weights to get the same tune back.

Thanks. I would have left the contra alone, but I could almost fully compress it with one hand, against my knee. The clutch springs will just let the revs get a little higher before it catches, right?

Yeah, clutch springs are basically just for the initial hit.
