I am looking at my shoulders! I guess thats what happens when you are 6 foot and girthy riding a scooter built for little asians. i had that same problem. i ditched my stock mirrors in favor of an inspection mirror fashioned into a bar end mirror. you mentioned grips and rubber floor mat not the color you wanted. ive not tried dying any parts on these scooters, but its very likely the floor mat and grip rubbers will take dye and could be dyed black with a day's soaking in RIT dye if one really wanted to.

They make mirror extensions. Metal brackets that screw in where the mirror does stock, then the mirrors screw into the brackets. This moves the mirrors out about 2" or so. I've seen the extensions for about $10.

Where is the VIN on these things? I dont think its the 16 digits with the bar code. do you have a couple plates down somewhere by the floorboard? Mine are riveted to the panel in front of engine, below seat.

I'll have to look later. I assumed incorrectly it was on the sticker but I think thats just a manufacturing code.

Mine is behind a small plastic cover that can be pried off on the leg shield.

My ATM50 had a sticker on the box with the VIN, one on the frame tube between the floor and handlebars with a small rectangular access panel in front of it, and a plate on the panel in front of the seat. Some have a plate under the seat. Some have a tag welded to the frame in the rear sorta by the shock and fuel tank area. Oh, the sticker on the box mine came in didn't say VIN but was labeled some other way. I wasn't sure it was the VIN till it matched the frame and plate. TaoTao VINs should start with L9N I believe.

If thats an L I'm not as dumb as I thought I was, the vertical part of it never got printed.... I'll double check for other plates later.

After knowing what to look for the vin is all over this bike. One in the storage under the seat, behind a panel in the foot weel, on the sticker on the frame I first saw and on the box where it was called the frame id. Electric starter doesn't seem to work after it did on the first try. Speedo tops out at 42 what ever that really is I don't know.

What's the e-start doing? Nothing at all, just a click, or are you getting some weird noises from under the CVT cover?

Just a click like you'd get with a dead battery. Sounds like bendix kicks out but doesn't turn. Kick tart work likes like a charm.

Check the battery voltage and then if that's good check voltage at the solenoid and starter when trying to crank. If that's all good you'll probably need to pull the CVT cover off and see what's up.

Battery is good. I'll have to check the starter later. But for now its pictures time. Stickered the helmet today. And cut out some checkers, not sure where to put them though.

Dropped the scoot today. Had just parked it and the sidewalk under it crumbled away and it fell over. Couple of scratches and the front brake lever end ball broke off. Filed the sharp edges off and looking for a new one. Maybe one that isnt pot metal.
