They do use cheap steel (if you can call it steel) on the brake levers. I've busted 3 levers so far. I've dumped dirt bikes many times and never had to replace the brake or clutch levers.

No such luck. The papers were sent to an address it shouldn't have been, I specifically told Family GoKarts where to send it, and the post office has no idea where it is. FGK should be resending me the paperwork soon.
Aggravating to say the least. All I've managed to do is rack up 20 clicks and adjust the idle because I can't take it on any kind of distance just laps around the parking lot.

Hope the papers arrive with haste. Sucks looking at a perfectly good scooter and not being able to ride it.

New papers will be mailed out tomorrow.
Not being able to ride it sucks. Not being able to insure it makes me very nervous. But I have faith it will all work out in time. In the mean time I've been walking a lot lately!
Don't know about other scooters but this one has an access port under the seat to adjust idle so you dont have to take the whole bucket out.

Paperwork finally showed up! Should be on the road next week.
Also found out my battery doesn't hold a charge at all.

Finally got to ride the scooter and bring it home! Rode very well and I upped the idle a little more. Gotta mentally map out the pot holes and bumps on my commute. I stick to all residential roads except for about a 10th of a mile on a 50mph route 3 section because the entrance to my 'hood is off the highway. Had a lot of twisted heads checking out the scooter. They are pretty rare around here. Got a few waves from bikers and one douche in a mustang called me a fag. I did mount my giant 7" android based GPS to clock the speedo. At 35 on the scoot I'm really doing 27 and at 40 I'm really doing 35. And I put a Buster Bloodvessel sticker on the trunk. Going to out lime it and revers the contrasts on it though.

I rode into Annapolis today to get a second job because being a small business owner in this state is difficult in the current state and national economy. But I digress....
Managed to pull two numbers because "it's so cute". The ride there and back was uneventful considering I had to ford a small river. One thing I noticed is that many drivers don't know how to react to a scooter hugging the side of the road. Many slowed down and wouldn't pass until I waved them by. A one wouldn't go by me at all until I stopped on the shoulder. At least every one was nice enough to let me go by in the flooded areas and didn't splash me.
I did notice a wheel wobble over 40mph but thats only on down hills that I can go that fast.

Laid down the first stripe. I might redo it in an odd number of checks wide because the head light adjuster and the holes from the trim I removed are dead center. Also had the headlight blow. I can't get new locally so I grabbed 5 from e-bay and went to halogen. At under $3 a piece I expect then to blow out too in short time.

Did the oil change today after 200 click on the odometer. Very fine slurry of metal on the magnet plug but not too much. Refilled with more Comp Cams break in oil. Checked lash and they where still good then gapped the plug and it was at .20 so I went to .25... Picked up a little power down low, lost some in the mid range but the high end of the rev scale seems to be smoother. The engine sounds a bit tinny now at idle.
The body work on the retro style CY50B is a real pain in the ass to deal with to do maintenance.

Took it to the 1/4 track today and managed to get 1 pass in before the lanes opened.
Ran a 33.67 @ 34.7mph trap speed.
I was told that if I come back I do need full leathers, 2010 rated helm and a kill switch if I get tossed off the bike. But I did manage a baseline.
Also got a lot of questions where the Spirit has been all year. Didn't know it had a following but it is a pretty distinct looking car.

Sweet. Glad you got it out there for a pass at least. What was the 1/8 mile ET and MPH? 60ft? We've got a group of scooter drag racers here, but they're all on 1/8 mile tracks.
