One of the first things is to go what 90GTVert did and get aftermarket gauges. The stock Speedo is probably 10% to 15% fast (all 3 of mine are).

Yeah, And get a tach also. I've seen nice ones on Ebay for $20-$25. Some even are back-lit which is nice. A tach helps when tuning.

I already have a tach coming in the mail. I didn't order a speedo yet because I didn't think I would be doing this to my scooter until I started looking through build threads today. Lol. That shows how motivating these websites are.

My scoot will be sitting outside and i do not have a cover for it yet... Is there anything I should cover up on it to protect from moisture? consider locking it to something if leaving outside overnight. word is most stolen scooters get lifted from home.

Any piece of plastic tarp that you can bungee cord around the scooter should work.
