You can get the 1.5 clutch and 1k torque. My hoca 1.5 torque is harder than my stage6 hard spring. I have a hoca 1k torque and it will work for you. What carb are you running and where are you located?

First off, I tried wiring up some headlights on the scoot and I couldn't figure it out. I can't find the wires that went to the original headlight. Second, I started my scoot while trying to wire the headlights, and there is a thing on the front of it that got hot and started smoking (I got some oil on it) and I don't know what it was. It's the thing that's circled red in the pics. Does anyone know what that is? Looks like a resistor bar for your lights. Check 2 stroke performance a tgreadbasic carb tuning tips almost at the end you will see it.

Haha. I did find the correct wires for my headlights. But my high beam had 2 wires and a ground going to it. So 3 wires total. Do I have to use both of the wires when wiring up a new headlight?

And i think that's what that thing is, the resistor... What is it for? I have no idea but hopefully someone will come across here and be able to tell me.

Found this on another site, "It is the ballast resistor for your AC lighting circuit. When that resistor fails completely it is quite possible that ALL of your AC light bulbs will eventually burn out from over voltage." And this "On *most* all Chinese scooters, the headlights, tail lights, and instrument lights run from the AC circuit directly from the magneto. In some cases the wire actually does run to a terminal on the regulator as a connection point, but the AC voltage is unregulated. That is why that ballast resistor is necessary."

I thought thats what the rectifier was for? I have one of those on a scooter of mine but not the other. one has d/c cdi and the other is a/c I wonder if that makes a difference?

I *think* they use them on the a/c systems, to regulate the higher and unsteady voltage output. The R/R is more useful as a converter than a regulator. Voltage before the r/r is routed through that ballast thingy. EDIT** scooterpartsplace.com/scooter-resistor-5w-5ohm.aspxCheck it out, u may need it.

Whatever it is, I dont think it should be getting as hot as it did. I'll look into getting a replacement.

I don't know how hot they're really supposed to get, but resistors naturally get hot. I had one on my old SunL. Never paid much attention to it because it seemed like junk to me and the wiring harness on that thing had issues anyway. I bought a new harness cheap that didn't incorporate the resistor and lived happily ever after. Mine all use the rectifier/regulator for the lights. If the rect/reg goes the bulbs start blowing, otherwise they work just fine without a ballast resistor.

My wiring harness is still in pretty good shape, so I guess I'll just keep it the way it is and do some research on those ballasts and see if they are supposed to get hot.

Well I pulled my cvt cover off and this is what I found... And I can't get either one of the bolts off so I'm stuck for now...

It helps to have an impact wrench to pull the variator and clutch nuts. Looks like someone tried to pull or replace the cover with it running.
