If you can find one cheap check out the Trail Tech Vapor. I used bike speedometers and Trail Tech tachs for years before I put the Vapor on my TaoTao. Now that I started riding the scoot with the small individual gauges I really miss the Vapor. Big advantage is you can see it easily at night and don't need to rig up some lights to shine on the gauges. It also does CHT, which is really nice to have for tuning. My Vapor was $70 open box and deals like that come up somewhat regularly if you keep an eye on eBay. Each little gauge is usually $20-35 so it's just as cheap or cheaper and a better end result IMO. Even at full price and with a $10 extension for a CHT thermocouple it's worth the small extra amount I think.

Did you use the bicycle speedometers with that little magnetic thing that goes on the wheel?

Those trail tech vapors look pretty nice, I just don't want to spend that kind of money on one.

First off, I tried wiring up some headlights on the scoot and I couldn't figure it out. I can't find the wires that went to the original headlight. Second, I started my scoot while trying to wire the headlights, and there is a thing on the front of it that got hot and started smoking (I got some oil on it) and I don't know what it was. It's the thing that's circled red in the pics. Does anyone know what that is?

I think it's a rectumfier. J/k lol. Did you check the fluid in the lights? Sorry I shouldn't drink coffee in the afternoon but if I don't I need a nap. I'm not good with electrical stuff but those things have been spoken about before and they are available. Hopefully one of our more gifted electrical gurus will chime in.

I found my old fog light laying around... I think I'll use them for headlights.

I thought that was a dog but I didn't see a tail and it looked like it had flippers. Like a seal. Lol. I'm not making fun of your dog. Who you got buried back there? I usually bury people under the ground. I guess the pavers and cap save some time digging. Rofl

I got too much going on in my head at once with this scooter. If I don't get something done soon I think I'm gonna go crazy.

I just need to find one part of the scoot to focus on right now. I guess that can be my cvt. I need new springs, sliders and I have no idea what condition the belt is in. I haven't looked at it yet.
