Here are some pics of my spare big case Yamati 50; Hope this helps.. John are those cases the ones that take the 90cc atv parts? If so I've got another code to look for Sent from my SPH-L720 using proboards

Thanks. I had heard that the eurostrada was a Yamati but in my case it's the normal 50. I surely would of noticed when I did the 70 kit.

What are the issues with installing a 90cc crank into a 50cc. what exactly do you have to change for the crank? I understand about installing the top end.

The outside diameter is larger than the inside diameter of the cases, there isn't much material there to begin with so a tiny mistake and u have scrap aluminum

Ok I fully understand the concept now thanks. I Don't have the eyes or the steady hands for that anymore. It's something I would be better off paying to have done.

Here are some pics of my spare big case Yamati 50; Hope this helps.. My small half case has the same makers mark as the one in your picture, But sadly the numbers don't match. Hope to find one of those some day. I ordered some really cheap priced crank bearings, and a decent burr cutter for aluminum. The bearings are sealed so hopefully they wont get shavings in them. The 1/8" shank by 1/4" round cutter should chew through the aluminum cases with ease, without clogging up too much I hope. I used the great links Brent provided, and checked out my measurements for the crank clearance again. It seems I will have a little less meat left on the cases than I thought, but there should still be enough left to seal up.

The economy sealed bearings I ordered finally came in. It took them long enough, but they were cheap. I sanded the crank halves where the bearings mount, so I could slip the bearings on and off the crank fairly easily. I did not want them loose to the point where they could fall off. I used a flap wheel mounted in a drill to spin the bearing and cut the outer diameter of the bearing down until it would hand press fit into the case half. Holding the flap wheel at an angle helped the process along, but it still took a good while to get it done. I went to several places today to see if they had a large grinder. I need to get the center area of the crank face flat all the way across it, either by fabricating a 2mm spacer, or grinding 2mm form the semicircle part of the crank half. Nobody I tried had a grinder to do the job quickly. One place said they would do each half for $40.00 apiece sometime next week, I said thanks but no. I guess I will have to find another way to get it done. With the big grinder we had at one place I used to work, I could do the job in 3 min...tops. There is also a picture of the cutter that came in. I need to find out the right speed to use for cutting aluminum, I imagine it will be slow to keep the heat down

Also If anyone has a junk case half or two I could get cheap, I would really appreciate it. I would like to try this out on a junker, before I try on a good set of cases!

Its looking good!Like the eccentric idea, mid to high rpm with plenty of lube to keep the cutter clog free.Guess you'll have to take step cuts on the left case half..Still like your router idea too!!

Thanks for the hint on cutting speed. The small case half will definitely be the easier one to do, multiple step cuts required for the big half for sure. I figure a flap wheel will take care of the fine finish as needed.
