I know its been awhile since ive updated this thread. Busy with about everything else lately but i did manage to get the crank truer with a copper hammer using the advice like in the vid. Then i got to the point were the runout was 180 off of the con rod pin and had to take a break from this and go work on other scoots clogging up the shop.
Today i get back to it. The crank was telling me the crank wheels/webs needed opened up a tad opposite the pin so i grabbed my chisel and hammer and gave her a couple love taps. Back on the blocks for another round. Yes! I am really getting places now! Much truer but needed opened up just a bit more. So a couple more love taps later and shes true and gold! Ready to be installed again!

I forgot to take pics of the process i used to fix the pin. I used electrical tape to seal off the rod big end and the bearing still on the crank so metal would not get in them. Then i ground off the pin sticking out of the crank. Here is my cheesy set-up. A much better way to check for run-out would be on a metal table, or a sheet of metal on this table lol. So everything stays well put for the best accuracy.

Yep, and the copper guy there on the right for knocking the wheels around if needed. Remember, its very easy to move these around. I was pretty surprised at little force it take to make these cranks move outta or into shape.
Thanks for all the help on the topic John!

After some time truing the crank then dropping the crank... Then spending more time with the crank, now i am addicted to crank lol... I assembled the engine and was not happy with some runout on the vari shaft. So i tore it all back down and sent it to 190mech for a better truing as i am still new at this. He got it straight again for me and sent it back. I polished the journals for a slip fit into the bearings and i REALLY liked it upon install! Its so nice just to slide the crank right into the bearings instead of pissing with hot and cold and a certain window of time to get it done right. Now the engine is in the scoot and runs good! It still needs brakes bled, oil pump leak fixed, carb tuned better, etc before i ride it but it starts very well and sounds great! Installing and tuning one of these is a real chore with the way the frame hugs the top of the engine and the way the seat, fuel cell, and oil tank are all one unit. Makes getting to the carb a real PITA! I had to install the choke and throttle cables before i even thought about sliding the carb into the intake. These are great machines but a real pain to work on in some ways. A rear face intake would be nice, but to get any real aid in working on the machine it would need to be so long it would effect top-end and maybe some peak power.. I have been spending an hour here and there on it and its finally wrapping up! Everyone knows what hearing a stout engine will do toward the final push to get it on the street

Let me get some of these bugs worked out first. The oil pump wont prime and is leaking so ive been manually feeding it plenty of oil! Its kinda loaded up and sounds like it lol

Its all buttoned up and back to the owner now. He is real happy with it but i would have liked another couple hours of tuning time at least..
Here is a vid of the 3rd start. It was plug fouling rich and had heavy weights in the vari for the first few heat cycles. Its an all new set-up from top to bottom so i intentionally put in the heavy weights and made sure it was jetted rich. All the smoke is from me manually feeding it oil as the oil pump wasnt priming and pushing oil out the small line, even after bleeding. I ended up pulling the pump off and i am glad i did now. When i started the engine without the pump i noticed right away the idle was much higher. All i can figure is something is not right with the pump? It seems ok to spin by hand but i left it at that and moved on without it. I prefer it premix personally, and wont even cover such a build with any type of "warranty" if the injection is used. This can still be a problem if the owner cannot mix oil and fuel proper. Engine problems from lack of oil are pretty easy to spot though.
After a few heat cycles i started getting into the throttle more. I was pretty impressed by the low end torque. I was doing wheelies at what seemed like an idle compared to some of the engines ive built lol.

Sounds like a nice solid idle.

I got this scooter back because it was acting up and bogging on hard acceleration. Found out the owner taped the hole i drilled in the airbox off because water was getting in and drilled his own higher. Only problem is his hole are bigger allowing more air in. I felt better about my tuning when i discovered this but couldnt help but feel unhappy with the owner as he should know better. Got the carb dialed back in and the scooter is making more power than ever. So much i noticed a slip in the cvt that seemed to get worse. I found it to be clutch slip from a very worn bell. A bell i could not replace at the time. The owner wanted the scooter back so i told him about the new found power and the slip. He took the scooter and acted like it was no big deal, no worries... That was until a couple days ago when i get a call. I guess the moral of this one is, Even if you think you know the person dont ever assume they understand what is really going on with the engine/set-up. I literally got blamed for making more power and his old worn out bell slipping away. I just wanted to rant a bit about it. The more i think about it the more it bothers me. The guy is a friend of mine so i told him ide take it back and fix it free of charge, he just buys parts. I just cannot believe he didnt/still doesnt get it... In the end i am still pretty happy with my tuning and the power its got. I was playing around after getting it dialed and doing some wheelies. It was slipping so it affected wheelies a bunch and almost put me on my ass! If it werent for good brakes i would be buying a taillight for it
