Age I guess. It's hygroscopic, so over time will hold more, and more water. If it's that bad, it probably needs the line changed too.

Chinese brake fluid? I have worked on some old cars and trucks and have never seen that.

That's the worse one I've seen. And I've seen some bad ones. šÆ Totally going swap out the entire system.

Today I had to chisel off the new cruciform on the cut down and order a new selector after the metal made of cheese knackered the threads and would not undo. Brings to mind the old adage, buy cheap buy twice.

That looks like nearly another scooter there Milly. Vespa parts tend to breed as quickly as Ruckus bits.

Finished tearing down a customerās PCX150 that had rear ended a car. Damage all the way back as energy dissipated thru the panels. Pretty much every panel has a crack or tab missing. Wish theyād make body panels out of the same plastic as the floorboards and the like - those stood up well. Iām getting the feeling that they dropped the bike from production because of the labor involved. Honda has got to quit over-engineering every single thing on these bikes just to make things compact. The tail assembly and how it attaches to the rear plastics is a study in nonsense; three different sizes of screwdriver to get at them all (at a bad angle even then). But the worst is these - They are the Devil. I still havenāt found a good trick to get them to pop loose. They donāt even come loose pinched/pushed from the inside. They seem to need to come straight out, but you canāt always pull the entire piece at once. Maybe Honda has a special tool for it. Or maybe servicing major components just means cracking panels and ordering from the Mothership. Oh well. Got an Italian grinder for lunch, so the day should go well. Now to put it back together!

My CBF250 is the same. There are three screws that hold the side panels on. All three different sizes. Just why Honda?

It got up to 58 degrees here today, so after lunch I decided to take the blue Kymco for a short ride over to the shop. While I was there, I did some prep work on the naked build. I am hoping to weld the rear seat supports in later this evening after dinner. The ride home around 5:30 was a bit colder. As I got closer to the coast on the way home, I could feel the air turn markedly colder. The blue Kymco noticed it too and gave me a bit more powa!

New throttle cables, and added a cup holder to the Vino 125. Not sure about the placement of the cup holder (of course this is after I drilled into the plastics).

I never really liked cross-country skiing. But it's a whole new ball game with scooter.
