PS. The pipe came with a gasket and I ordered 3 S6 gaskets on top of it, you can never have too many spare gaskets I say. Plus I owe 2TDave a gasket at least by now.

Your going to like your scoot on a pipe! I'm sure I will. I almost, ALMOST got froggy enough to try and put it on tonight. Instead, I went and changed out the weights. I put lighter weights in, bringing it to 5.5g. No likey. RPM went up but max speed GPS was 37mph. I'm going to probably order some more heavier weights I think, I dunno what the pipe is going to do. But my max RPM is about 8k so I can't see pulling much more from her right now. I tested out the new impact. Took the clutch off and cleaned the bell & clutch pads. Just some 220 grit and brake cleaner to remove any glazing. I threw some high temp grease in the bearing of the clutch and around the spline and some loctite on the clutch nut while I was at it for safety sake. I put the CVT cover on. I bought some Hex head bolts from Ace. Some spots don't like them though, too tight for a socket to really fit in there. But they hold. This thing had been sitting for over a week and was hard to start. I had to do what I did with the M1, cover the air intake a little to sort of choke (richen) it to get it to start. A few twists of the throttle and she was idling beautifully. Let's see how the weather looks the rest of the week and how my back feels. Oh and I tightened up the bolts on the center stand, it's hard as hell to move now. My back is still tender so when I try to kick it up, my lower spine screams at me. So no center stand for this whale.

You'll be seeing higher revs with the pipe.

You'll be seeing higher revs with the pipe. Even if the CDI is restricted? I'm only asking because I have no clue if mine is or isn't and I've read too much on how a restricted CDI can cripple your enhancements sometimes. But if you said even with restricted, I just may swap this thing sooner than later just to get to it! PS. I think the bracket that it came with may work just fine on its own. It has spacers too, if not I have some other aluminum spacers for 1/4-20 hardware I have in the ol' shed RING A DING DING DING!! DAMMIT!!!

No not if it's restricted through the cdi. I doubt it is but who knows until you try. Pipes can be a bitch to seal. I like to coat everything with permatex hi temp red rtv first. No leaks since I started doing that.

No leaks since I started doing that. Yeah, I saw you gooped that thing up real well. I went and got a tube of it, also the copper as well as the copper spray and a bunch of other Permatex items. I've got the red muffler sealant that I'll add a nice layer of on both sides I'd assume? And dammit! I need to figure out how to un-restrict this thing. I guess I'll find out when I get the pipe on and all if it still maxes at 8k.

I doubt it's restricted at all. I've heard some of the stock CDI's are restricted to 10k but know if it's true- might be a good thing if it is.. for a stock crank anyway. My VX50 was hitting 9.5k sometimes with the pipe, but usually 9k. You'll like it!

I'm hoping it goes to that, at least then I'll have some hope of getting more speed with the BBK. Otherwise I'll be stuck at the RPM/Ratio I'm at now and gears will be the ONLY way I'll get more speed it seems. I'm already looking to order heavier weights.

Hmmm.. Browsing through eBay and I found this carb. *drools* Seriously considering this for the VX50 now, it has a bottom bolt to change the jets!!! Whatcha guys think in the future?

There are members using the clones with success. With your setup I think a 19 would be better and a bit easier to tune. There's a seller that sells them for $35-$40 but they come from Taiwan.

Yeah I wasn't sure with the 70cc kit if I should stick with 19 or go 21 but I was just using that as a reference. I like the idea of easy jetting. Trying to eliminate removing the whole thing in the future. Thanks!

So after working on the M1 a little today, I was feeling pretty good and the back wasn't bothering me at all actually. We will see how that goes tonight and tomorrow. I decided to start putting the new exhaust on. First thing's first, a dry fit. Back when I was first having issues with it, I got some exhaust studs and nuts and had bolted the original exhaust to it with that. Dave fixed the leak and all was well. That was a nice little mess to clean up, really it actually wasn't too bad to get the sealant and all off. I went to put the main pipe on and one of the studs (Closest to the Stator side) was touching the pipe, no room to put the nut on. I thought about chopping it down with the dremel, but the nuts for these are cap nuts and I didn't have any #6 nuts laying around. So the last time I went to ACE hardware, I picked up some M6 hex head bolts. I removed the one stud (came out a lot easier than I thought) and went to replace it with one of the M6 hex heads. Too long, it wouldn't fit in. It was 5:44 and ACE here closes at 6. I know, right?!?! So I hopped on the M1 and took the risk of driving there, I was having some issues at WOT with it earlier after I did a fluid change and plug change. I made it with 5 minutes to spare! I got some more M6 hex head bolts, two different lengths just in case. Viola, I got one to fit perfectly! It was a little snug going on, but I didn't cross any threads and after a while it got easier and was able to tighten down nicely. Now, here's my problem. #1. The pipe sits really really close to the center stand, I'm worried that it's going to hit it as I drive. Keep in mind the bolts are not completely tight right now, but still the clearance is really close. Am I going to have to chop my center stand off? #2. The mounting points are off. There's one loop on the pipe that sits just off from one of the bolts I can use to mount directly to the engine. Even if I decide to not use this loop for mounting, the bolt that holds the old exhaust mount and rear wheel well still will be in the way. See here. #3. Even if I got that bolt to match up, which I'm afraid to bend the loop or anything on the pipe. I still have to match another which means I have to fashion a bracket. I don't weld and it's getting dark so I'm giving up for tonight on both scoots. See the big picture here. I'm not sure if the pipe is just the wrong mount or if this is normal to have it so far off from anything on the bike that will work. *sigh*

Whats up with the box of hanger brackets in the last pic??Looks like the centrestand will need some grinding to keep from hitting the pipe..
