I like the cover! Upgraded bearings are always a plus and no grinding and clearance for the over range out of the box. The 15/50 gears went in and this wraps up the cvt.

I was having some oil coming out of the flange where the exhaust mates up. The other exhausts I’ve had always have o rings. The c16/c20 don’t have them so someone just said use sealer. So high temp sealer it is. Worth a shot! I like my engine clean and spotless. This way if something starts leaking I can see right where it’s coming from.

this was how the bowl looked when I took it out. The line on the float needs to be level with the bowl itself....so the bowl couldn’t keep the main jet fulfilled. After fixing this and taking it for a spin, the random quiting and stopping from WOT where gone. I also checked the fuel cap to make sure it was breathing and letting fuel into the system. Both with the cap on and off the flow was the same. Progress! This should of been checked before I put the carb on but I didn’t. Don’t rush!

What a mess! I still was having carb cut out issue. It sounded like spark was cutting but after checking everything and jet sizes again it was pointing to fuel loss. Being that I received a cheep motoforce carb, I started to dig deeper into the carb i was using. The motorforce had the 262a atomizer, 60 idle, w7 needle, and the 38 pilot and my main. After digging around I didn’t like how the float bowl was sitting. After trying to adjust, I decided just to try another carb from a bike. 21mm nuraku with 38 pilot, 60 idle, w7 needle, 105 main, and 50 slide. After installing this the slow painful cutting out disappeared and it was a normal jetting feeling that I’m use to.
What was happening was the bike was sounding great on the stand. When I went down the road at full WOT, it was good for 6-8 seconds then it was just die like no more throttle. If I coasted for a little bit a few seconds later the bike would regain “power” and I could go into wot again. Originally I thought this was happening because of the plug getting wet or too much fuel and it not being able to burn it. Flooding out... this is when I down jetted and the time the bike “died” got less. But I was getting to a point jetting where it was too low and didn’t seem right. Was float bowl my issue? Just a cheep carb? My ignition has good grounds between the engine and frame Along with the mvt coil is grounded good.
I went ahead and ordered a different 21mm carb and hopefully this will correct the issue for good.
Also ordered with my different carb is a polini evolution gear cover with ball/needle bearings and 15/50 primary gears.

UPDATE: Added a malossi fuel petcock. I think the other factory one wasn’t working right or supplying enough fuel. After adding this I was finding the bike to rich. Black plug and chocking at wot. I ended up going down to a 95 main jet while keeping the 40 pilot on the 21mm phbg. This will be my jetting till weather changes and to get a final tune on the bike.

Honestly it went around 74 with the racing setup and the c20 exhaust. But yea. Haha it still goes for a street race setup. Just takes longer to get there but I’m working that out

With the base tune of 40/98, the bike was holding back. I upped it to 102 and took it like nothing. I’m going to be upping to 110 to see how it changes and work from there. Port matching and trenching really opened it up!

gauge is wired into bike for dual temps, rpm, and voltage, larger battery fitted and installed, and now all that’s left to do is wait for the water overflow tank, install exhaust, test and tune and install the plastics.

Yea for now the lights are ac so they are on another circuit with the charging. So most likely I’ll do a switch with some upgraded leds/bulb type. I know they are super dim so when I start riding at night more I’ll address.
I want to focus on the main items for the engine and supporting mods. The pump and charging I took care of with a bigger battery and after testing will work perfect. I know I have a good front brake and want to upgrade the rear at some point.
I’m installing my polini dual temp gauge tomorrow and finishing up the wiring.
Coming along!
