You know overse I saw this page before but looking at it again I see the ignition says 16* I know that’s only for idle though. And just because it says 26hp at13,800 rpm I wonder what sorta hp I was making at 12,000 ? Just changed my carb back and got a fat continental back tire then I shredded my Malosi belt to bad I really thought I was lov8nh that belt too. I guess I’m gunna go for a motoforce Kevlar seeing as they have lasted the longest so far. Thats probably 16 degrees no curve like lots of og scooter stuff used to be. Just a flatline cdi.

Lots of the trofei malossi scoots lock wire the dipstick tube to the drain nut. In theory this would be the last step after filling it, and also a visual reminder that this important step was done... maybe start doing that!

I have one of those carbs also sitting in a pile, I am pretty sure the dio is a 17mm carb though at least all the canadian market ones I have seen. I have an AF34 carb which is definitely a 19mm here as well and it appears to bolt up to the standard flange
I would not go bigger than a 19mm unless you had a large cylinder and pipe to support it. 19mm is more than enough and the only gain you will see is fuel economy going down the toilet on a stock or mild setup. I have a 21mm on a mild 70 bore and low end tuning sucks and it is depressingly thirsty.
I also have a weird adapter here I made that bolts a stock carb to a CT intake bottom. That plus the AF34 carb would be a hot setup in my eyes.

Move up to the adjustable CDI, Do some fine tuning, and some fine transmission tuning and it sounds like you will have a winning combination.
whenever you push the limits of builds you always run into problems. Overboring to paper thin cylinder walls.. poor sealing, case flex etc... all of those are fighting you on the 103 build.
I bet with a little fine tuning you will be very happy with a more "bolt on" 86cc kit. If you want to push it I am sure you could get a MXS 45mm crank and get it up into the 90cc range for more gusto at the expense of a lighter pocketbook. But there is something to be said about just having a complete easy to get kit vs piecing everything together.

I'm fairly certain from memory the spree steerer tube threads are different in diameter than a dio which could be the reason the headset didnt thread on right.
It's been a while though.

25 degrees may work, but at 12k I would be worried about melting a piston and high rpm detonation. 15 degrees at peak power tapering off is ideal for max power and reliability. 30-40ish at idle and tapering to 15 at peak is kinda ballpark for most of the performance curves for small bore stuff I have seen.
I think moving into the world of adjustable curve CDI would make a world of difference. Maybe try that programmable one? Learning curve is steep but I think worth it.

I am sometimes not the brightest fella, a while back I built my shortcase Piaggio engine up, but I also forgot to put sufficient oil in the transmission. It wrecked the cases in the transmission pretty badly. You can see it even turned the bearing blue. So being a creative fella and not wanting to throw these cases away, I added in a HK1612 bearing like the Malossi cases and that also fixed the damage. Ever since my last twin, I wanted another. Just not in the AF18 cases because it's such a hassle. Since my new love is Piaggio motors, I figured why not. I started by adding a liquid cooled case half on the stator side and re maching everything to suit. I then designed a twin center half This will be a slow build. I have no money, just time to tinker. I need to get 2 cranks and I am thinking twin 50cc LC but may even go 50cc air cooled twin. I have one Doppler crank here, maybe get another one and build it off those. Then 2 either MHR team 50 cylinders air or liquid.

New clutch, first thing I like to do is bed the shoes to the clutch bell. Put some sandpaper on the inside of the clutch bell with some glue or adhesive, then start the bike and let the shoes make contact on the centerstand. Ride the brake a tad. Do this till the contact patch is acceptable. Go easy, hard to put that stuff back on.
Then clean your bell out with brakeclean.
You would be shocked how many clutches only ride on the outer edge of the shoe till they get worn in.
My RC-ONE engages at like 6k. It's fine. I was however shocked at how soft the center spring was. Noticeably soft. This also probably plays into the fact it uses 4-5g weights. I suspect you are still shifting too soon. As you said it started to hit with the way lighter rollers but top speed decreased. The other thing about the lighter rollers is how fast it downshifts, which the center spring also plays a part in, but if its lazy to get back to low you dont get that wheelie hit from a roll.
I don't know if that extra crank inertia plays into the loss of hit but it very well might as well.
Just food for thought.

I have one of those intakes sitting in a pile. Problem is I'm bad at shipping things/lazy.

Blue is idle/pilot.
Green is choke well. Just a tube that draws fuel up for the choke.

I would try a lighter center spring and see if the speed comes up with he lighter rollers.

Gopro on the rear pulley tells you lots when your transmission tuning...

Also I wonder if your shifting too early? To me it sounds fairly clean, but it's not pulling... lighter weights?
