I had the same issue and it was a thick head gasket that came with my kit. Trim out your old thin gasket to fit the new piston.

I'm going to stick with the 11:1 I feel that it is best too. I have 3 scoots to play with trying different combinations.

I would not run the 9:1 (49/17) with a 47mm. I did that and I was forever changing weight and springs to get the desired results. I feel it might be ok with a 50mm set up but the 47 is too light. I went back to a 11:1 ratio. I have 2 other scoots one has the 15:1 and the other has 13:1. The 15:1 has a lot of low end so it all depends on what you are trying to get out of it. Do you need high speed or low end power.

Usually if the key is sheared off, the flywheel is not even close. I like pulling the head because you can really see the position if the piston and flywheel and adjust it where ever you want it and if you are putting in the cam the is loose anyway. You can take the flywheel nut off and see the key too.

The flywheel is often stamped wrong. I have one motor where I checked 4 different flywheels and 2 of them were off. I always pull the head and put the piston at top dead and mark the flywheel with a sharpie where top dead is. Then put the head on and set the cam.

It came on a qmb139 49cc 2011 scooter. For now I just put a 44mm kit on because I had it already and removed the PCV system. Should I use it with the ball or removed it. There are NO springs or holes under it just solid metal.

I want to see if the ball should be kept or removed. I took off all the emissions crap. It is just a metal ball smaller than a BB and it comes right out. It just seems to be taking up that space.

Has anyone seen this ball in a pd18j carb?? It is not attached to anything. I probably have 15 of these carbs and never seen this ball. Is it some kind of restriction part???

Is it ok to use RTV instead of a base gasket as long as the squish clearance is kept? I'm working on a 1e41qmb geeley motor. Had low compression 90psi and found that carbon had the rings stuck in tight.
