I am switching to a long case with a 12" wheel and just checked my 10" on it and it will NOT fit. The 12" hub is larger.

Do you feel that the gear change is worth doing? Did you get good results? I installed a set and had to do a lot of tuning just to get back to before I installed them. I did not see the benefits and have been thinking of removing them.

I had a chance to ride a stock motor today and I forgot how little power they have. With my current 47mm set up I run 45mph @8200 I have done a lot of testing with different springs and sliders of different weights. I do have the 49/17 gears and was wondering if they had actually helped me or made no difference in the end. The only failure I have had was the base gasket leaked, no leaks with the new one. The head I run was from a 60cc model and I was thinking of trying the 49cc head to see if I have more compression.
I currently run a 1500 main spring, gives nice torque but I was able to go faster on the top end with a 1000 main spring near 50mph
Any thoughts on this let me know

That is what I also thought of DHL when i looked at their variator. I just though i would vent a little in the forum Koso just keeps pissing me off. I am going to stick with no name chinese oem parts for a while. The good name brands polini molassi are too much for me now. Stock variator clutch coil cdi carb all have veen good.

Why is Koso sold soo much when it is not any better than no name Chinese parts. I order 2 sets of sliders, 4 gram and 6 gram. The 4 gram weighed in at 5.5 gram and the 6 gram weighed in at over 7 grams. So not too hard to fix with a dremel and a burr buy why? Also, my 1000 torque spring did not last but a few hundred miles and now is weaker than the old stock spring that I put back in. I plan on buying a new 1000 main spring, a cheap blue one. I tried a 1500 main spring, gave me lots of rpm and good low end but killed top speed by 5mph if anyone was interested in hearing my results.

Mine did that and it was the starter pinion. Just take off the cover pull it straight out and put in a new one.

Yeah, I wonder if that really works well...? Has anyone used those bicycle computer for speedo? you have to attach a magnet sensor on your front wheel, however... I have several layin' around, so may experiment.... Wait, I already have a regular speedo on the scoots!! why do you need that anyway??? I tried a bicycle one and it was all over the place, maybe I needed to get e resister plug but I did not get that far with it.

Go for the 669 X 18 X 30. That is the correct size for a 139QMB shortcase. Very true, that is the right size but I have 4 belts that size and I took a tape measure around each and found that one was a half inch longer. I find that the newer/wider belts slip less and the 18.1 belts lasts longer.

I have the same situation. My belt sits all the way down on the variator and just like yours on the pulley. I have been changing weights to get my rpm up. Maybe I just need a longer belt too. How are your results, is your performance improved?

Check to see if your throttle cable is set right. I had that issue too when you move the throttle cable it changed the idle. Before I set idle I loosen the throttle cable all of the way, then tighten it just starts to change the idle then tighten it. Next check the A/F setting and set the idle.

I had that problem. For me it was the idle adjustment screw getting loose and bouncing around. I changed the screw and put a nut on it instead of the spring. I have a very steady idle now.

Hi 90GTVert, Thank you for responding to my question. I was unsure that a stiffer contra spring would increase rpm, you say it will then I might get one. I am not opposed to lighter weights, I just did not want to spend the money and be disappointed again. If my weights are too light then I will definetly need a heavier contra spring too, is that right? Weights and springs are the only 2 ways to increase the rpm??? What would you suggest I do first?
1. 4 gram sliders or the 1500k contra spring
2. both the the spring and sliders

I have been trying to get the rpm higher ever since I installed my new gears. Before the gears I was at 9500 to 10000 Now my highest is 7200 and only 6000 in a headwind. I have 6 gram sliders in right now. Is there any way other than weight changes to change the rpm. I have tried the blue racing cdi and it was worse than stock. I put a new belt in and it is riding as high as you can get. I have a 1000 koso contra spring in now should that be changed?? I can gain a lot more power if I can back to 8000 rpm. Any idea's? MY current set up: 2007 VIP 47mm BBK A9 cam #88 Main jet #34 pilot with pod filter Needle clip is at the lowest setting 6 gram koso sliders 1k koso contra spring 1500 clutch springs timing mod cleaned the ports up and port matched the spacer 49t/17t Gears 50.2 mph on my garmin gps @ 7200rpm 42mph @6000 into the wind
