Has anyone really successfully used an Easy-Out? Please exclude the ones you heard about from a friend who heard it from their cousin who heard it from ... Thanks! If I knew how to quote by pushing buttons, I would but I don't so here it is the old fashioned way: FrankenMech "Removing broken fasteners is an essential skill for working on scooters." Maybe that's a chapter title for the Essential Scooter Book? I tried an extractor screw on a screw of a carburtor and on a screw of the blue wire, in order to bridle the scooter, from the clutch assembly to the cdi, and it fails both times. The part of the extractor to remove the crew just drills, like the part of the extractor which drills. Perhaps those extractors works when the screw is not tighten with an impact driver. I took dremmel back and bought this ... I'm headed to the scoot as we speak I will take a pic and record video thanks for all the input

Ditto on the eye protection. I have used an easy out successfully, but I broke a few before I learned how. An easy out can NOT be used by hand. They must be used in a rigid setup with everything clamped so it can't move except in rotation. Used on a part held in a drill press vise clamped to the table with the easy out held in the drill press chuck will work. Easy outs are extremely hard and brittle, any side to side movement will shatter them. Maybe some of the more expensive tools are heat treated so they are case hardened and ductile in the center. I have an old Hansen set I use. I don't know if there are any vids available on removing broken fasteners. I haven't looked. Maybe someone can work one up that has camera's and skills. The video is in the post with the dremmel pic

Seems like fixing that e-start will save you some headaches. A less expensive Dremel(off brand) will work also. Check reviews. Will this do ?

please get a good picture of the broken bolt, so we can see what you are working with, and try not to piss off the mechanical Gods by using an easy out, which will only result, in a broken bolt, with a super hard broken easy out, broken in it, which is nearly impossible to remove I'm not currently near my scoot right now this a better discription to where the screw is until I get time to take a real live image a66.tinypic.com/2hok5mb.jpg

Slot the screw with a dremel and thread it out. Removing broken fasteners is an essential skill for working on scoots. When replacing fasteners always use anti-seize on steel fasteners threaded into aluminum. Is there a video on this? And I'm referring to the BOLT not a Fastener?

you cant access the screw from the side? No the screw to hold starter broke off into the engine casing half and half flush on surface

Get the electric start working. The starter screw is broke into the frame and I have to remove engine to get it out and create new threads.

Hey I'm tired of striping my kick start lever with these after market kick starts . My scoot only starts by the kicker and is a short case I want a dirt bike type kicker with the right specs and threads to fit My TAO TAO 50cc .......10 dollars each time and a wait of two weeks just 🏎💨 my heart.

vimeo.com/202466936Here is me showing u it throttled up good with no rider but with rider it dirs with a real throttle twist Based on your first vid(seeing the other 3 go to missing links) I see and hear several things wrong. The engine is noisy, so I would guess the valves are out of adjustment and possibly the timing chain tensioner is out of adjustment. The lack of power could be from the valve timing is off. The popping can be from the valves adjusted too tight(valve still open) or the timing is off. You are missing the breather tube off the valve cover. Whats up with you rear tire ? It wobbles when it is spinning. It also looks like its not seated on the rim properly. @2:30(in first video) on left side of tire and wheel, I can see outside of the rim. This should be impossible seeing the tire should be wider than the rim.

I once got a crank where the chain sprocket was in the wrong place so I couldn't line up timing marks on the flywheel and cam. Might be something to check. Engine is noisy Valves are good now Is bretther tube really necessary to run?

So now it runs good with out me sitting on it. When I go to sit it rides however it turns off when I try to give the throttle real power and this has about a 85 main jet. Video in next post to go with this description
