I got it for $250 Australian dollars so I'm a happy camper . It has had a hard life by the looks of it , but it starts and runs and everything works on it . The previous owner said one of the radiator hoses has a crack in it , but other than that mechanically its OK . Ken

Update - Finally picked up fourth and last Aerox ( my wife has made me promise ) from down South . This will be my parts bike that will help complete both General Grevious , but also improve my wifes Aerox ( Blue Steel ) . Now the drive home and back to the real world after a few days of fun and family time . Ken

Looks amazing! Yeah, decent paint work isn't cheap I'm that guessing that would have been somewhere in the high hundreds at least. I was quoted from NZ$400 right up to $1300 to have my Gyro fairings painted! Lets just say " VERY " High Hundreds But I must admit the work is good . Ken

Went and picked up the frame , fairing and CVT cover today , to say I'm happy with the results is an understatement . Here is an example of the finished product , all the welds have been ground down and smoothed off , the result is fantastic in real life ( the pics dont do it justice ) Remember this is what it looked like before . I'm to embarrassed to admit what it cost , but it was alot more than I thought it was going to be ( like three times as much ) but after I got over the shock I at least consoled myself with the fact that there was no way in the workd I could have done this myself with my knowledge and equipment . If there is a next time I will probably attempt it myself because this chewed up a huge chunk of my budget , but for now " Such is Life " Ken PS - the build is put on standby this week because I am off tommorrow for a weeks vacation , but while Im away I will be picking up another Aerox that I bought ages ago from down South but never got around to picking up until now .

White looks great! Or red would have been sweet too, but white definitely stands out more and is perfect for a naked build. Just make sure you clean it on a regular basis because as nice white might be you can see dirt better on it. Just out of curiosity, how much does such a frame and CVT cover paint job cost over there? No friendship price, just regular price please. To be honest I dont actually know how much until I pick it up from him . I got a ball park figure from him before we started , but a few things changed as we went along , and more prep work ended up being done than what was originally planned . We ended up grinding the welds and really trying to smooth out the look of the frame ( the original frame was actually really roughly put together at the factory and the quality of the welds and the weld splatter was surprising ) . So more man hours than planned has gone into the job which equals more money , also the front fairing took alot of work to prep . It would have been alot cheaper to just buy a new White fairing , but I really wanted the colour to perfectly match the frame . The CVT cover was also a pain in the rear to prep according to the painter ( maybe he's just having a lend of me with all this talk of more work - more money ) I will tell the truth when the final bill comes in , but already I know its in the Hundreds of dollars . I hope my wife isnt monitoring my internet. 😊 Ken

I love how a white frame looks. Looks wet. I'll be honest and admit that it was pics of your build that tipped me over the edge and helped me decide to go White . i was going to paint it Gun Metal grey , but after spending hours studying pics of custom motorcycles I realised that I wanted the frame to stand out not disappear into the background like a darker colour does . The frame is supposed to be celebrated , visible and obvious in a Naked build . I still hadnt fully decided as I dropped the frame off at the painters , I stood in his workshop with a million things swirling in my head , took a deep breathe and said " White " Im glad I did . Ken

The painter sent a few pics through today to prove that he has finally got onto my parts . I actually feel sorry for the guy , I think he has had a client that has caused issues and he's had to fix problems that are not of his making . Frame first coat Front fairing looking good , a huge difference from the spray can black with stickers that it was . Transmission cover first coat . Ken

Not much excitement today , but I did spend more time than was probably required preparing and sorting out the old mountain bike stem for painting . The big stuff like the frame and the transmission case I've put in the hands of experts , but the small stuff I feel I should be doing myself . I've probably gone overboard on my prep for spray can painting but I want it to look OK and last . Ken

Update - The frame painting has turned onto a drama , and I still havent got it back . I've had updates from the painter and his work is top shelf but he has had complications with another job and my small frame has taken second place . Its annoying but " Such is life " . Spent a few hours today playing with a friends lathe to turn down the diameter of the alloy stem to 1 1/8 inches which is the standard size of Mountain bike stems . I've never spent any time using a Lathe so I'm sure the finish could have been better , but Im happy with the outcome and this is a much better option than what I had before and it allows me to use some Answer Pro Taper fat bars that Ive got coming .
