I just recieved an Intake Manifold from Malossi and its got me a bit confused . I ordered the model that allows 360 degree rotation to allow me to choose exactly where the Carb is positioned . There is an old saying about a round peg in a square hole and that is what I've got . The rubber part is round and the hole in the alloy base is sort of square . Am I supposed to force the two parts together or have I been sent the wrong combination ? Hopefully this pic will show what I mean . Ken

Loving this build mate. Wouldn't mind playing with an Aerox myself but I don't think I've ever seen one on this side of the ditch! Any chance you'd want to sell the switch gear and master cylinder etc from your parts bike? Thanks for the kind words about General Grievous . The unused parts will all be up for grabs once I've finished the build . I just dont want to get rid of anything just yet as its amazing how often I have had to search through my parts pile already to find a bit or part , sometimes just to see how its wired or postioned . To tell you the truth though most of my parts bin isn't in the best condition anyway . Ken PS - anyone have suggestions as to good tyres to put on General Grievous ?

The triple and stem look great! I'm really happy with the way the front end has turned out so far . I'm sure its not everyones " Cup of Tea " but I personally think it looks " Cool " . I deliberated long and hard about how to achieve a more forward handlebar setup with the restrainst put on me by the Radiator and overflow bottle position . This setup positions the bars at least 5 inches further forward than the standard Aerox . I'm 6ft 3inches and a standard Aerox layout is " OK " but bigger will always be better . The extended subframe and the forward mounted bars will hopefully give me the weight forward stance that I'm looking for . Ken

This a going to be an awesome build. It just gets better the more stuff you bolt on. Carry on. Thanks for the kind words and encouragement . The problem is the stuff I want to bolt on is expensive and takes forever to get to Australia Hopefully a few more items will arrive this week ( I've had notification that they are near ) and that means the slow process can continue. Does anyone have any links to places that sell the clear Radiator hose that I see on many custom scooters . I live in Australia and the only place I can find online that will sell and ship to me wants to charge $47.00 for shipping 2 meters of hose .

Update - Got back from a walk and decided to spend some time getting the parts bike Aerox motor out of the frame and give it a checkover . I think this will be the motor and cases that I will build up into something good . The motor side of these Scooters frightens me a bit because it's not something I've ever had anything to do with , so it will be a big learning curve thats for sure . The original General Grievous motor will be the one I fit to the bike to get it rolling , but this second motor will eventually be used when its been " Bombed Up " Went through my pile of wheels and chose these two as the best , they need a cleanup and probably new tyres , but I'm tired and that can wait until next weekend Ken

Update - Found out last night that today is a public holiday here in Australia that I'd forgotten about So I get another day playing with General Grievous . Forks are on . Extended subframe is on after alot of swear words and headache . I had the combination of spacers and washers around the wrong way and it just wasn't measuring up right . Taking a break to go for a walk with my wife , but will try and get some more done later . Ken

I'd say thats fairly accurate Ken I lived in Brisvegas for a year (working on a movie). Had a flat on the river and went kayaking in the mornings. Loved it! Great people too. Only jerk I met was, ironically, a Canadian! Sydney and Melbourne are nice as well, but the living on the Gold Coast is good. Also, Byron Bay bugs put lobster to shame. Brissy is a great city in my humble opinion . My son goes to university there so we often spend a bit of time there catching up with him . The traffic takes some getting used to for this country boy , but my wife and I have said if we ever were to live in a city , I think we would choose Brisbane . Ken

Update - Today marks a huge turning point for my General Grievous build . Today I bolted stuff together instead of pulling things apart . Started with the fork triple tree . Then got the handlebar stem mounted , those with an eagle eye will note that there are 4 nuts on the stem instead of 3 . I had an extra nut laying around and it fills in the gap between the bottom of the alloy stem and the top nut , it just didnt look great with the gap visible and the thread showing . Then I mounted the brand new Radiator , Overflow bottle and Handlebars . I ran out of time to do anymore today as I have family business to attend to , but to say Im happy to get this ball rolling is an understatement . Im away for the week but next weekend will see more goodies bolted on . Ken

Update - Spent some time preping and painting the fork triple tree . I've been waiting on parts to arrive and when the paint on these forks dries I will finally start putting things together instead of pulling things apart . Primer coat . First top coat . Ken

Sorry to see it go. Hopefully to a good home. Yes it went to a young guy who I know will look after it and maintain it . My riding has changed over the years and I suspect I might be in the older age bracket of forum membership . I no longer ride as fast or for as long as I once did and the WR which was the last in a long line of bikes wasn't getting used much . Also my wife has taken up riding one of our scooters so its much more fun to go for rides with her and both be on Aerox's rather than me two miles ahead and her playing catchup all the time . I'm loving my Scooters more and more and apart from maybe some long distance touring cant really ever see myself owning a large motorcycle again . Ken
