check the wiring, especially the ground wire to motor and frame. the starter solenoid has 2 wires going to it and its ground activated. it has a positive wire to it and then the ground from the switch and when you hit the switch it completes the ground circuit and kicks the solenoid, at least on my set up and beamer diagram it does. also have you checked the fuse by the battery?

Is there a eletrical genius in the house? :help:  Well, as before it wouldnt even turn over. When i pressed the start button the brake light came on. The rear brake light socket/base had came lose from its ground, i pressed that back in and BAM, it turns over now W/O pressing lever and light still comes on while turning over. It doesnt start of course but at least it turns over... .. I went and un plugged the brake light. The thing would NOT turn over, dead again. :stumped: Plugged light back up and it turns over.. Could the stator be messed up and causing this wierd stuff??..There is 1 green wire cut off under the speedo but i cant tell where it shoulda went(has a blue splice jig close by to, but if he put 300 mi. on here it did work). Brian said he was riding it when it died..thats why i thought kill switch(which work when i turned it off) or cdi(great spark btw), stator... I'm still trying to get the multimeter learned during this, swapping parts from davids,etc.. . Something is backwards or something....(maybe he done this on purpose to see if i have learned anything..  ... not on electrical. :stars: ... Any possible ideas or the same short idea? BTW, i did get the intake and airbox from shaker today.... THANK YOU JASON. :thumb: ... I am going to clean that carb and see what happens. :paranoid:

Hey guys, thanks for the replys.. I had posted before i even seen that.... Yeah, the fuse is good.. I figure the lever switch is good cause when you press the lever it stops turning over...(that's where i was thinking SOMETHING is backwards, but all the wires correspond with the other)

Good morning guys.. I am cleaning the carb and changing this intake this a.m...(thanks again jason) (@ 2strokd, filter looks good.). Is it safe to assume that floats in the carb are suppose to be at a somewhat level, parralel position when turned upside down or are these carbs different(oem mikuni i guess). This float is at a 45* down turn level.(float is/can hit the carb body)...
Also, i didnt think to ask before. But would anyone have a batt. box or cover?.. A front fairing or leg shield that ISN'T so busted?? (even if busted, maybe not as bad? )

Yeah, the float should be basically parallel with the carb body when upside down.

If you removed the mixture or idle screws, there could have been washers back there. Sure they aren't just from the bowl screws?

Hey brent, thanks for the reply... These cant be from the bowl screw. they are small brass washers/shims???(2).. the bowl screw has a lock type washer on all 4 screws.. I didnt know if they went under the bystarter.. I found one hanging on the gasket.. No clue where they came from.... Anybody have a oem carb for sale?. ......(maybe i can take it apart and see where they went) Guess i'll have to buy him one since i have no clue about these brass washer/shim things. (at least it burnt up the fuel in the bowl running...i was close anyway..

When i adjusted the float yesterday, could it TOO parralel to start? On the back side of the float there is another tab, a bit longer. This tab helps the distance the float can travel? ... I hope you understand... would/could this have a impact?.. (i did adjust it also)....
