When does the magnetic pick up stop working? From what I've read about 12k you need electronic pick up? I have no idea I've read the Yasuni c16 is the rev ceiling for the stock ignition. Swapping to a racing ignition i think is a must when you're aiming for 20hp. I've never built a 20hp motor, only did a lot of reading on very poorly argumented dutch scooter forums so i might be one big pile of BS about stock vs race ignitions. Where and IF the HP border between stock and race is i dunno.

I think I read some where the limitation is somewhere around 11-12k due to the stock flywheel coming apart. I have taken a stock Yamaha flywheel to 10.5-11 with no issues yet.
On a side note the Yamaha flywheels are about 4 oz less in weight then a clones flywheel.

The guy with the big evo was boogering up flywheels but he was turning some crazy rpm. 13k to 15k

I have had issues on yamaha atvs. It wasn't that they came a part it would break the timing key. I was told it wasn't the key that kept wheel from turning but it has to be torqued correctly because they are tapered. Sounds good, thanks for the info guys. Keep it coming!

Also, as for the lightened flywheel that's debatable. Once the heavier flywheel is in motion it is creating more torque although this may be false torque. It will rev faster with lighter I think but don't know about the trade off..

Being that there is a belt with a cvt I would assume there is less stress on the flywheel since there is a bit of give, vs banging through the gears

The inner rotor flywheels don't have a key it is just the taper that holds them on when you get them in the right spot

The death scooter. My son did the paint job, it will certainly be changed. I thought about putting the new build in one of my running jogs but I think I will let them be. I will just build this one up

First piece arrived, guess I better get to tearing my cases down. Plan on doing so work to them. I hope this build will smoke my 90

Looks like this case is poop. Started cleaning it and looks like fractures in it. It had been beat to hell and I noticed some other issues. Don't won't to build on it. I have another complete engine I'm gonna split, didn't want to as it has a great crank and top end. Oh well...

I considered maybe a casting flaw but where the case halfs meet there is a dent where some dipshit split them. Not to mention the serial number is ground off. This motor came from Hawaii in a scooter I bought
