2005 Xtreme FD50 Daytona, aka plastic covered 50cc chinese scooter. As you can tell, I have already removed the majority of the plastic body shell pieces, the remaining parts are needed for lights to be legal to register and ride on public roads in Iowa, as is the flag. Essentially, with the bulk of the work to be done over the winter, I intend to strip it down to the frame, install a sprung saddle seat, create some kind of box to relocate the battery and electronics current under the cowl, new gauges and switches worked in, change the handle bars and play around with the cosmetics a bit and end up with a somewhat "bobberish" looking rat scoot. Then I'm going to sell it to some rich guys kid and buy me a chuckus...

I'll predict. In the year 2017 you're frustrated about the time and money spend to this little rat scoot. More scooters are going to invade your space of being . Hooked!

Rats are big on time and small on budget, I'll have less than $250 tops into it when it's done.
Save the coin for the chuckster to come

There is a guy in my area selling the chuckus's new for $1100 newlondon.craigslist.org/mcy/5682830262.htmlI think they are clones of the Icebear Maddog. Go figure, a clone of a clone.

And this is where the engine stops until the BBK gets here, but no worries, the other half needs attention too.

a good scrub and inspection in the sun, bit of surface rust here and there on the frame but nothing serious, no structural issues, all the welds are solid, plenty of mounting points to work with for all the retrofit stuff. Locally i can have the whole thing media blasted and powder coated for about $200, just sandblasted for about $40,

Had to work between raindrops today, but I was able to get all the factory wire holders and clamps ground off and the attachment points I know I won't be needing, gave the whole frame a good dousing of a foaming degreaser which also conveniently dulled the old paint and gave it two coats of primer

First color coat done on the frame, thanks to my lack of planning, I have to sand down the handle bars etc and repaint, had to change colors after the first coat on them because the local stores in Boone literally will stock a single can of paint in inventory and then expect you to pay a delivery charge to order more.

Say hello to my wire loom, 1/2" corrugated PVC conduit. For smaller branch circuits, I'll use 3/8" flex loom, also PVC, the neat thing is I should be able to drill a suitable hole in the wall the 1/2" conduit and bond the smaller loom with the same pvc cement you use to joint the conduit and fittings, pretty much the same stuff as you use in plumbing. I had originally intended to run all the wiring inside the frame, and I might still do that later, but I decided to go this route for now. I do have the option of painting the conduit as well.

Trailer wire loom with 7-wires is great for electrics.
