I had been looking for a retro style cluster, but didn;t want to spend $50 on something I new wouldn't be accurate and probably not stellar quality considering the level of bikes that come with them factory, pretty much a shiny cosmetic accessory, but it's a detail that makes a big difference in the overall look and it does have some lights to look at ") I actually ordered two, needed one for my other scooter project, and as I found out the other day, Iowa DOT freaks out if you don't have a speedometer even though there's no law... Those are junk I have 2 sets of them I would have given you.

Oh well, didn't pay much, not expecting much except for something fill space and remind me the blinkers are on.

One of those days when you have the agenda firmly entrenched in your brain, and the squirrels immediately attack...
Hence I got a junction box mounted, said that's not it, stared at it, scratched my head, and walked away.

In regards to the instrument cluster, I paid $20 for it on Amazon:
The speedometer reads as follows:
30mph at 25mph GPS 38mph at 35mph GPS 48mph at 40mph GPS
That would actually be more accurate than the OEM.
The gas gauge gives useable readings based on experience.
The indicator lights could be brighter.
On the other hand, I have yet to find a speedometer for a 50cc scooter that makes any claims of accuracy other than high dollar GPS based units, at which point my non-exploding Note is already there.

It's all in the paper work with them. Iowa doesn't even have inspections, if they did, 1/3 of the vehicles in this state would have their plates pulled. The only reason the speedo was an issue was because of the way the previous title was issued.
We're so limited they have to list a single color on a two tone car and argue which color should be listed.

Have no idea how accurate it is, I set my idle previously by the clutch engagement, this tach said it was a little over 2K, so I backed it down to around 1600K, lower had a tendency to stall now and then. Took it out for a spin, at 39-40mph I'm hitting 9000RPM by this.
Time to start thinking about the variator and clutch, starting to get a bit sluggish once it's warmed up good and after a good run, I'm getting a wiff of burning rubber. Stands to reason, the drive train is stock with a lot of miles on it and I added quite a bit of power to it.
