I chose this stuff because I like the look and the ability to be able to use the junction boxes etc the manufacture offers as part of the design.

And the frame is finished, now I just let it sit for a few days for a good cure in the sun and by that time I should be able to start running the wiring system

I went with this for the look more than anything, if I gotta see it, may as well make it interesting.

Front wheel and gas tank done, back wheel is still on engine till I remember to buy the socket... Amazon "says" my parts will be here Tuesday, BBK, handle bar switch and lights. I plan to get the BBK done immediately and put things back together enough to make sure it runs before proceeding further.

OK, everything was going great until I started torquing the headbolts, one of the studs snapped off at the 10 foot lbs point, I have the head pulled backoff, was able to extract the broken stud, I guess now I need to find a new stud, or set would be better probably and replace them all. Extremely disappointing. to say the least, regretting even starting, should have stuck my original game plan.

Careful with that torque wrench. The last time I snapped off a stud or stripped threads in the block at that low of a torque setting, my wrench was out of calibration.

That low torque I just go by "feel". I don't trust a torque wrench below 20 ft lbs. Maybe try a manual type torque wrench if you need one.

I just checked the torque wrench, I just bought it, 3/8" inch lbs, I read it wrong apparently, on the other hand I already have the stud and head gasket on order so hopefully it's not too much of a setback, and you can see how I twisted the stud right off. I've never worked on small stuff, I've done timing chains, ball joints, clutches etc in cars and my Jeep, I need to learn finesse.
It was just going so well, I studied up, I even shut off the phone so I wouldn't be disturbed, done in by my own stupidity.

Everyone learns by learning how not to do it. At least once.

Started working on the electricals while I wait for the new head gasket and stud, I'm going to reuse the old harness for now, get all the new lights and switches hooked up, eliminate all the extra wires and slop and use that as the scheme for a new harness I'll make and install over the winter tear down. I just want to get this thing back together and running with the new BBK and have some fun for the rest of the season.
