I got a black UNI filter.
The big pry bar was for bending the seat latch into position. I could have used a smaller one, but the bigger one requires very little effort to work with. Let the tools do the work whenever possible. I'm also guilty of grabbing a very large hammer for most jobs (notice the maul in the floor). Same reason.

Yeah, much better. It's just the standard UNI packaged with no prefilter. Makes it cheaper and blacker. ;D

I fired it up very briefly last night and smoked up the garage. I got the controls on and the front brake and speedo sensor mounted. One of the rear signals isn't working so I gotta pull the gas tank off to get to the wires that are tucked in there and see if it's my wiring (most likely) or a bad light. I must say, it sounds odd but, you can tell the handlebars are more solid even cranking the motor over. It may be a bad thing on bumps and such, but you can feel the engine cranking over more and shaking at idle etc...
We keep getting snow so I haven't been really motivated. It snowed last weekend and then last night we got an extra inch or two and now they say we'll get more over the weekend.

I pulled the tank out of the way enough to reach the wiring for my dead blinker. I checked and I have power to it and it still doesn't blink. Bad light I guess. I disconnected the wires and for whatever reason hooked them up backwards for a quick test. Now the light works. So I have 3 blinkers that are yellow positive and black negative and one that is yellow negative and black positive. Oh well, at least I don't need to buy more lights.

My right side back blinker's positive wire broke a while ago, and neither back blinker would work until I wired it back up.
Glad you figured it out and saved yourself some money ;D
Filter looks much better, btw.

Thanks. I still gotta tie everything up to finish it off, but I've got a snowblower to work on at the moment. They're predicting anything from 6" to 2' this weekend here and prob for you too, so I guess you'll get some more snow riding in doc.

Nice. I especially like the seat . I still love the look of that back end, its so minimal, yet it looks great. Those blinkers really compliment the brake light. Now lets get rid of the snow so we can RIDE!

I was really thinking of taking it out tonight. I'm using better judgment and leaving it in the garage though. I was out in a car earlier and saw people stuck on side roads and a couple of people sliding around trying to make turns or get going. The main roads are clear, but on 2 wheels one slick spot could be all it takes to ruin a day. The shoulders aren't clear in a lot of areas either so it makes riding a 50 kinda tricky.

Thanks. I wanna ride so bad. Snow showers are forecasted for tonight then again on Tues and Wed. The tv stations are saying 1-3 inches for the coming week but folks I know working for the state and county say their forecasts are indicating up to 8 more inches. If next winter is like this I'm gonna need to buy some studded tires or something.
