The cvt set-up. The rear pulley looks to be bigger than the mina, not sure how much yet? Hhhm, will this fit into Skeedr And the bad part...The rear pulley got mangled somehow? And look at this! It looks like its been ground on!?! WTF, anybody seen this before? Minarelli 13mm shaft Prodigy vari on the bottom, and the Morini DiTech on the top.

Like you guys were saying in another thread, some people think you just drive it till it fails then fix it or junk it. Preventative maintenance... what's that?

It tried to even itself out... no rollers, but the rear pulley stuck in high gear.

This is off-topic, but so are half of our comments here... My friend (hondacbr666rr) called and told me he saw this thread and it reminded him of when my clutch broke a spring. We were using my 70cc scoot to practice taking the motorcycle skills test (at the time the manual said you could use a 49cc scoot) when a clutch spring broke. I didn't know exactly what happened at the time, just knew the clutch no longer slipped. Well it felt pretty beefy and almost wanted to pick the wheel up launching so I messed with it. It didn't quite wanna do it, but it was as close as I had felt it to power wheelies. Well, rather than getting off because it's broke I told him to hop on the back and let's see if it will do wheelies then. This was when I first installed my first big bore kit on my first scooter. I still knew better, but the idea of doing wheelies on a scooter was so funny to me at the time that I didn't really think straight. Needless to say I destroyed that clutch. Maybe that's what happened to your transmission? lol

Are you sure that is the original variator fixed ramp? It's hard for me to believe that a quality O.E.M. part from Aprilla would do that. Something abrasive would have to be in there to cause that or maybe a roller wore all the way down to the metal. I'm still running the original rollers on my Derbi, even after 7752 miles. A couple of hundred miles ago they still looked perfectly round. The ones on the Chinascoot I had flat spotted very quickly. A little graphite is the way to go.

lol, thats funny you mentioned it..I was gonna post about the Ape yesterday and got busy and forgot. Nothing really going on with the Aprilia yet. I need to take a look at the head tube bearings. They are loose and probably need replaced. It also needs a new vari and maybe a rear pulley set-up. Oh, and a speedo cable. Other than that it just needs some cosmetic stuff. I plan on leaving it stock for now, ive said that before tho . We will see how long that lasts? Im not looking forward to over $400 for a bbk thats for sure . They do pretty well stock i guess . All post some pics and vids as soon as i make em

Had her out yesterday and shes starting to run pretty good since i put some good gas in it. I still have to fix everything i mentioned..I did get the plastic back on it and the turn signals fixed! I even road my first DiTech wheelie. Pretty heavy, but fun! Anybody have some 7 or 8gram rollers they wanna sell? I need a set of 15x12,s for this thing and i know most Minarelli set-ups dont like that heavy of a roller.

Would you consider selling it so that I can put a Polini Evolution II and a Yasuni C20 on it? ;D

Got my new vari for the Ape! Its a Polini speed control with monster size rollers(like 19x15, or20x16mm). 7grams is what it came with and thats perfect for this one. Helped allot. It will run out at 50-55 mph no problem and (no kidding) gets over 100mpg!!!All stock with the exception of the vari. Im very happy with it! Its a heavy ass scooter but the weight makes it very stable on the road over bumps and through the twisty stuff with bumps. Cant see spending $450 for the bbk and computer when it runs pretty darn good stock and gets this good of mileage. I am very greatful to have come across such a deal on a quality scooter.

A 100 MPG, 55 MPH, 2 stroke. Impressive. Poor Skeedr's gonna get lonely.
