A buddy stopped by yesterday on his 07 DiTech with only 700 miles on it! A very nice one at that(i like the newer style dash!). We went out for a ride and i noticed right away that mine was faster, or he wasnt giving his much throttle? After a couple miles i stopped at a sign and asked him if he was choosing to stay behind me? He said "No, its you only weighing 145, or i need onna the Polini variators like yours?". I said, "thats an easy one, lets switch rides for a minute". So we did and sure enough, mines faster. His is derestricted and runs well so im assuming he does need the vari? I told him we could put mine in his scooter for a few miles for a real test. Had the Crazy Ape runnin 62 MPH with a tail wind! It was nice...The motor wasnt even screamin!

2stroked, you keep talking about your Aprilia Ditech...I'm gonna have to seriously think about getting one myself. I do have a boat coming in this summer and may HAVE to do it. OMG, my wife thinks I'm obsessed with these scooters; she's so right, I am! It's a sickness I tell ya...will definitely have to sell at least one scooter though and it won't be a 2 stroke; bye-bye 139qmb...

I put Skeedr's old tach on the Ape the other day. It stays around 7-7,500 until your into the high 40,s, then the trans catches up with the motor. It tachs about 8grand at 50, and just cruises. Not even screamin in the high 50,s...Gotta be running 55+ to see over 8,800RPM . I like that. Gonna ride this puppy to Gasoline Rally this year . I should check these gears for our ratio data. Its got a big ole CVT set-up thats for sure. And a set of 13inch wheels, that has to help. Its a heavy beast, but has got to be the most all around stable 49cc scooter i have ever been on. I have taken it through some twisty's pretty darn fast. Faster than i used to when i was 18 on a crotch- rocket. Some of these turns are posted at 15MPH and i was taking them at almost triple that a little too comfortable . I get too brave when i ride with my helmet and gear on. Wish i had a helmet cam . Got caught in the rain Sat. Sure glad i had my helmet and jacket then too. I was on the highway 10miles from home. It was pouring and would have hurt bad w/out em. The Aprilia ran fine! I was kinda waiting on something to happen, but nope, she ran great! The air inlets for the CVT and the throttle body are right under the floorboard, in the center so they stay pretty dry . It did slow a bit, but i think thats because i was going through a half inch of water most of the time(buckets of rain). Then i notice the Dodge truck in front of me hydroplaining through a turn from one highway to the another that leads you right into town:o. Passing that truck was the only time i got nervous. Check out my new sticker

The sticker looks good on there. Looks huge on the little SunL, but that long fender makes it look right at home. ;D
I've heard Reg and you talk about getting on the highway. I'm not even allowed on the shoulder of a real highway where the speed limit is 55 or greater. Is it legal for you, or you just do it? lol

Thanks John! If i ever sell it, or find another good deal on one its yours! I know ya like this thing, and lord knows ide like to see you enjoy one(build a pipe for one ). Wish they would take this technology and adapt it to other scooters. Its not the best at any one thing, but good at all . Great all around scooter right outta the box. Its gotta be, i havent modded anything yet lol!

That sticker really does look good right there. I saw one of these sitting in the BK parking lot when I was leaving work. Had to go check it out. Did about 5 circles around it just checking it out. They are SO nice.
It reminds me of your quote - "ooops i fixed it tel it broke....". Don't fix what isn't broken! If it's fast out of the box without issues, I'd leave it alone too!
