The sticker looks good on there. Looks huge on the little SunL, but that long fender makes it look right at home. ;D I've heard Reg and you talk about getting on the highway. I'm not even allowed on the shoulder of a real highway where the speed limit is 55 or greater. Is it legal for you, or you just do it? lol Lol, man i didnt even think about it . Just knew were i was headed and went there. Im not sure they are allowed on the highway. I know lots of people ride on the highway shoulder from a small local town about 5miles away. Back and forth without any problems. To tell ya the truth, on paper it probably is illegal but thankfully most of our police our not 'pushing' the issue. As long as your not doing anything stupid they dont even bother. Thankfully! Hope it stays that way too!

It should be in the "Morcycle Manual" for your state. Check the dmv site. WI, 50cc, you can ride the highway, but not obstruct traffic, move over and let the cars get around you, like a bicycle.

My interpretation of the law here is.... Be stealthy and get away with whatever you can. I.e., park on sidewalks but drive the two lanes like you own them.

I have been noticing the Aprilia getting hard to start, then it started loosing power the other day. At first i thought it just was shifting "lazy", but after a few more miles i could tell the engine was the lazy one. Then i was sitting at a stoplight Tuesday and it just died like i turned the key off. It would start but as soon as i gave it throttle it would die. I managed to get it running and go right as the light turned. I came home and using what research i have done over at AF1 on these things i figured i should start with checking the reeds and the air/fuel injection block. It seems there has been allot of people getting moister from the airpump through the line into the block. The simple remedy for this is to install an in-line air dryer similar to what an aircompressor uses but smaller. I took the air-fuel block off the head and pulled the cap off. Yuck, no wonder shes runnin like pooh . Thats not supposed to be there ! I cleaned the whole block out the best i could and checked all the seals. Everything else looked good so i put it back on. Im working on a dryer for it, pics later... Thats gonna fix it right? Probably but i cant leave it at that! I just gotta check the reeds too. So i took the intake off. It held on with security tip torx head screw . Why? I havent a clue! I guess they are such a good intake they might get stolen if they come off too easy....BS! Anyway, glad i have a set . The reed block is of good design, and the cage has a built in "stuffer". The petals are standard mina size stainless. Oh but they say Aprilia on em. That makes em worth more! BS! Sorry all, i gotta buddy that thinks these things are GOLD just cause they say Aprilia on them ! Yet he cant tell me what the diff between a tuned pipe and an ex bearing ! Sorry Mike, read a book ;D! Then we make scooter fast LMAO! The block does look like great quality but i still cant help but stuff this big ole block in there just for kicks! Autotechs Left, stock Right It runs better now but i went against my cardinal rule and did two changes at once so i cant really tell if these reeds and bigger block are helping? Maybe a bit off idle and up to 5,000 or so? Or its because the fuel system is clean now? I will ride it for a tank or two then put the stock reed block back in and see.

I woulda injected a little soap and it coulda bathed itself with all the water in there. If you get an Aprilia stamp you can sell your buddy some Chinese parts at a nice profit.

The EPA may get after you!Surely emission standards will be broken if the reeds are able to function as designed.. ;D ;D

The reeds didnt seem to make a difference in the way it runs, power wise. Must have something to do with the fact that no fuel runs through the reed block. It does start easier tho! Its probably the way the ECU is mapped, not sure? It downshifts like crap now. I think maybe the CVT was, is getting hot. These Polini rollers already have nasty flat spots in em .

Put the factory reed block back in after a good inspection and cleaning. Took the factory exhaust off just to see if it had any carbon build-up in the port areas of the exhaust. Looked good, but man that sucker is heavy! All 13.7 pounds of it. In comparison one of 190mechs pipes weighed 4.? pounds . I ran a pressure (leak) test on it too. Figured ide try a test with the pipe on one this time. Worked great! You have allot more pumping to do to fill the whole exhaust and get your 6psi, but it worked and now i know i dont have any leaks in my seals, intake, cylinder gaskets, and exhaust ! My thumb sure is sore tho from plugging the pipe with it for six minutes lol . Fired it up and it likes the factory reed block better so thats cool Ape, you got it!

The ole Ape has been sitting allot lately so i figured i would take her out for a spin yesterday :riding: ! Ran good but i had a problem . The noise i had in the CVT area is back and worse than ever. It went away after i done a good cvt cleaning and installed a Polini vari so i figured that it was something to do with the cvt... Well, yesterday it came back and is louder than ever! I took the cvt cover off and fired it up. Everything looked good except for a little slop in the crank bearing ! It doesnt seem to be any worse than it was when i got it but it sure is making noise now! I think im gonna pull the belt off and start it w/out the CVT hooked up and see if and what kinda noise it makes? Everything looks fine and it runs well

That sucks. Unfortunately running well doesn't mean a whole lot if it's a bearing issue or something like that. When my big end bearing was going in T2 it ran good, just made tons of noise and filled the crankcase with glitter.
