Jeez man, this whole thing got a lot deeper than I was expecting. This Rick guy seems like a shifty dude. Thanks for the detective work and spreading awareness!

So in other words they were out of stock of what you ordered and “upgraded” your order with what they had on hand. Technically if you submitted a claim with PayPal not as described/ordered you wouldn’t be liable for return shipping. In Iowa doing something like that would be called consumer fraud.

Jeez man, this whole thing got a lot deeper than I was expecting. This Rick guy seems like a shifty dude. Thanks for the detective work and spreading awareness! I aim to get at the bottom of this with some answers as best as I can for the wider group of scooter friends, I no longer have a pony in this race as Paypal and Visa have refunded all the money on my claim a week or so ago, but I don't like liars, cheats or fraudsters taking advantage of people and taking their hard-earned money. Now mind you, Rick may have totally good reasons/excuses, and RnD Moto could be victims of him too, but all the evidence I've found thus far does not support excuses. If Rick was in intensive care in the hospital in a coma for the last 4 months, that's a valid excuse, "moving" or "selling" is not. I don't like what I'm seeing and I've had quite a bit of experience over the years doing this type of research, and uncovering more evidence, usually with a conclusion to it. While "Heather" from RnD Moto seems nice, and legit, I am still skeptical because of the domain registrations still being in Rick's name, and indeed the RnD Moto domain itself EVER being registered in his name at all! Then there's the state business licenses too, also in his name for Alchemy motive, as is RnD Moto, same address and everything. That plus the two name of "Moto" and "Motive" just seem to be too alike to be a simple coincidence, why isn't one "Moto" and the other something like "scooters" or the like? I believe "Heather" will get back to me to-morrow in messenger with some answers from the "boss", I have not removed my negative review and told her I would not unless I am satified with the answers she provides to me on the questions, that review at this time is really our ONLY leverage to get those answers from RnD Moto, and it's the one thing that got their attention. I'm hoping RnD Moto is just a fraud victim like some of us, and really have no part in this, are not connected to Rick in any way, and were innocent, in which case I WILL remove my review etc., but I have to see some documentation of some kind. I'm also going to monotor those domain registrations to see if they suddenly change, if something is shady there they could change quickly, especially to a privacy registration to hide the real ownership information. Sit tight, I should have some kind of answer in a day or two.

I would have never bought from scrappy dog in the first place if I would of come here first and read the reviews. The price was what really got me. It was much cheaper than everyone else...now I think I can see why. Lots of weird stuff going on behind the scenes at these businesses. On another note, I got my BBK installed, just got to grab some feeler gauges tomorrow from work so I can adjust the valves. 3 hours is how long its taken so far. Not bad for the first time I have ever tore down a small engine and working on it in the scooter still!

It would be interesting to tear one of these engines apart and examine it, there's parts in there like the cam tensioner that the average Joe would not have any idea how to check if it needs tightening or replacment etc.

I just wanted to straighten something up here.
A 50mm kit for a QMB139 engine displaces a true 80cc.
A 47mm Kit displaces 72cc and a 52mm kit displaces 88cc. There is no such thing as a true 100cc kit for the QMB engine. The closest you can get is a 52.4mm Naraku kit with a SSP-G stroker for a total displacement of 94.9cc.
So... if you ordered an 80cc kit and were sent a 50mm kit... I think you actually got what was ordered.

If you ordered an 80cc BBK and they sent a 100cc BBK, you did not in anyway get what you ordered no matter how hard you want to try and spin it, period.

It's not spin, that's just math. I get that y'all have the pitchforks out, but facts are facts. It looks to me that the OP actually got what he ordered if the kit is indeed 50mm. I'm not commenting on business practices or who is what, just that a 50mm QMB139 kit is a true 80cc kit. That's all. Matt

A "true 80cc" would be 80cc, not 72 or 88, so by your own argument, 50mm isn't a true 80cc either.
Love the pitchfork comment, sounds like the pitchforks are entirely justified.

About 1 minute of research easily settled the entire 80cc vs 100cc argument. The OP said he ordered the 80cc Stage 3 kit on Scrappy's site. Go to ScrappyDog's website and this is what you'll see... So when you look at facts instead of making assumptions, the whole situation changes quite a bit. I don't care what anyone thinks of any business or person, facts are facts and that's all I wanted to provide.

You said you ordered an 80cc Stage III. What I posted shows that an 80cc Stage III kit is actually a 47mm bore. They even wrote 80cc on your box. If your receipt says you ordered the 80cc like you think, which happens to match the price of what they call the 80cc kit that is the 47mm bore, then I don't see what you've done wrong.
IMO if you order something you should get it unless you are contacted about any changes. I would be upset if I was "upgraded" to a part I didn't order like this. If I order a 47mm bore, I want a 47mm bore and not 50mm. That's all just my opinion though.
It sounds like no one checked with you. They gave you what they decided that you wanted basically, and none of us actually know if there were good intentions or if it was done because that's what they had on hand or what they sourced cheaper or wanted to get rid of. All we can really know is what you ordered and what you got. Those don't seem to match.
It doesn't look like you have any intention of being negative toward anyone. This is what useful reviews are all about.
