taking the new switches apart to see what each color wire goes to. only way I know of to tell. but also using this "generic " schematic , which all the components and colors aren't the same as my harness , to try and make my own diagram . between that and duplicating as many of the plugs and wires of the old harness as I can maybe I can create a new one .

Get yourself some colored pencils I usually end up making a ladder diagram, like machine control schematics, with power on the left side and ground on the right. Ladder diagrams simplify the the wiring situation. Diagrams like those published schematics are hard to follow

I never could manage to print really small.
it's not finished . I still have to dissect the handlebar switches and identify button/switch positions in relation to wires , etc. .

does any body know where I can get a REAL wiring diagram/schematic for a 150cc scooter or a TaoTao 150 in particular? I sure could use one . what I'm following isn't the exact same as my harness and I'm having problems ... since I'm not really experienced with harnesses and electrical at all . I've searched all over . thanks guys

well , this has been a progression for me in every way, including buying bits , parts, connectors etc. . these 3.5, 3.9 bullet conn. and reg./rect female plug came the other day and today the plug and pins for the CDI came. Also a while back I bought an oversize rubber cover for the solenoid ; cause these things get hard and brittle and are difficult to get back on if you take it off. but the hole in the end was oversize too , so I put a rubber grommet in the hole and sealed it with silicone . fit perfect . looks like it took. we'll see . I'll just zip tie it on the solenoid. I checked the pins and plug for the CDI and they seem to fit even tho they;re for a diff CDI ; also the reg. plug fits .

maybe hard to see it but I used one of those heat shrink/solder connectors topped off with more clear heat shrink for this. didn't have anything else small enough for just 2 wires. soldered the wires together first then stuck em in the connector, then heat gun. made some progress now that I have more right connectors, pins, plugs

I decided I didn't like the green primary I made up- the with the 2 giant steel splices for crimps - so I made up another one tonite and just soldered and heat shrunk the solders . now it should fit in the sheath.

I do find wiring a nightmare on modern bikes. Old points model's I could wire up with no diagrams. Maybe need to read up on modern electrics and I will certainly try to work out the ladder diagram.
