Did you ever change the gears? Given the small tire size the Honda’s are happy with ratios below 9:1 and are still wheelie prone.

Yep!oldgeek handed me a 9:1 set when he brought me this project,,still keeps the front end in the air...

Very happy to see you making something cool from that pile of poo I left you! Put a stretch motor mount on it like the cool kids do! That will fix your case of the wheelies

That will fix your case of the wheelies I gotta agree with oldgeek here. after some thought about your problem, stretching the wheel base is the correct way to fix this problem. only thing you stretched the wrong side. you need to get the engine and rear tire out from underneath you. moving the rear tire back changes everything. like hill climb bikes. they throw the rear tire back 2 ft. to counter the effects of climbing the hill at speed. extending it in front of the balancing point only helps a little if any when youre still sitting over the rear wheel. I guess moving the tire (and engine) back 4-6" will change things drastically.

Get a greasy tire and just do burnouts instead.

Dang! That looks pretty good from here! Do you need a rear brake cable and lever? I just saw one in scootopia for an 94 Elite that should fit the bill.

I have a cable a lever/switches also, if you do need one. did you extend the motor mount yet? I would do that first before building the rear cowl if you haven't. would suck to put all that work in only to re-do it to fit again. with that said, looks good. your seat looks a little high. is that mounted on stock hinge and latch? your panel sorta looks like an af09 super tact panel... I wonder how one would fit on there. theyre shorter height wise and longer length wise than USDM second generation aero nb50. I have a set on my orange aero if you want to compare measurements. LMK. are you planning on fiber glassing over that for a finished product?

Harley,I dont intend to stretch the mount as I feel it is the weakest point in the frame structure,,making it longer can only increase the torsion on that area causing possible failure..Yeah,I know lots of folks do it but I'll build another frame before I go down that well beaten path..The final panels will be thin plastic sheet or possibly aluminum,,seat height is all stock..Will give a ride report when its all back together..

I quite like the look of that so far.

I totally understand what youre saying. the frame mounting locations on them old Hondas frames were sub par to begin with. now double the hp... ok, so we wont stretch the engine mount, if you lengthened the floor board 3" you could move the seat forward 3" if you wanted to. you are building the engine covers. every inch you can move your weight forward of the rear wheel and closer to the ground, is a step towards better riding characteristics. just throwing out extra ideas for you to ponder on. I personally vote for aluminum panels. I think a polished set of hand formed aluminum panels would be bad ass.

So much for bolt on and go... Makes you wonder about the guys that run these cranks and cylinders with nothing more then a basic tool set. It’s in good hands now. when I started getting to know a little bit about scooters, I jumped over to Yamaha quick. Kinda funny to see these numbers and realities posted by a real engine builder, people been talking about Honda stroker "powah" for years now. Apparently it was all talk haha. I’ve ridden and help build an af 16 striker 125cc 52.6 crank and did it all with basic hand tools and deemed in a shed and the powah is all real!

Been a while!Work load is heavier than ever, but have been pecking away at this project when time and weather permits..Got the rear cowling fabbed from an old lexan 1/16" experimental aircraft windshield(free and forms easily),Will paint it on the inside to get full 'experimental' effect..Oh yeah, did a few test rides after the frame stretch and Vento Zip front end install, niice and stable now!!

190mech I enjoy your build thread. Tell me, you think it's possible to fit a 12" rear wheel? I was thinking on doing a wheel swap on my AF24, from pressed steel ones to alloy rims. Either by adapting ones or by getting a pair from Aliexpress. What keeps me from buying ones from Ali is the shipping cost. Wheels 50$, shipping 100$.
