One is street race, one is Corsa. Honing as best as I can is done. Note to self, get l lint free rags.

Dryer sheets. They clean up parts well, are lint free and leave a nice fresh scent.
Maybe consider swapping carbs with that new jug. Grab a cheapy OKO or something, maybe your carb is acting up and not atomizing fuel correctly?

Dryer sheets, will do. New carb maybe. I’m tracing my issues back to poor choices in two stroke oil and stuck rings.

Just for conversation,I ran my jog on cheap oil for years before I went premix after a soft sieze, still used cheap oil after without problems,I had to consult a mathematical buddy to explain ratios and check my maths. Geoff

what kind of oil do you use? since i run the injector pump, i run Motul 710. never had problems with it.
i am under the assumption that you are running premix.

I do premix. 33:1. I stopped using VP and started using castor 927, that was a mistake. Then I was using STP because it’s just so damn cheap. I’m gonna go back to either Lucas or VP.

Looking at your cylinders, #1 has a nice port layout, looks like the bridge between bottom transfer A & B is undercut, optical illusion?? #2 port layout is real tame..Looks like you used a dog's tail to swab those bores making it tough to see imperfections,,I proved many years back that dog hair DOES NOT alter 2 stroke engine performance in my shed with 5 dogs living in it...

The top cylinder is the Street Race from Stage6. I looked that cylinder a lot. The bottom one believe it or not is a Polini that identifies as a Corsa. The undercut is where the needle of the broken rod bearing tried to become charge mixture instead of steel.

The piston ring gaps do line up where they need to in the cylinder bore for the stage6. The piston protrudes out the top of the Stage6 cylinder at top dead center, the Pallini cylinder head is flat where it meets the cylinder so I’m stacking base gaskets to prevent extrusion. I think I’m losing compression through the O-ring on the Polini head where it meets the stage6 block. I wrapped up at 11:30 last night with a non-running scooter. I will work on it again some more after work today

Did you see how the crown of the piston aligned with the ports at BDC? If it's not together now, maybe check that. See if it could benefit from pushing the whole cylinder up some vs making all clearance adjustment via head gaskets.

I put in extra base gaskets. One metal and two paper in a sandwich. Paper/metal/paper I mistakenly tried to assemble it last night AND start it. Damn it’s hard to go to sleep pissed off and cranky. I need to evaluate the head/cylinder seal. That’s next on my agenda.

Keep the paper base gaskets to a minimum,as paper gaskets cause the cyl base to be 'spongey' so the clamping force at the head is greatly reduced..The best setup is alumunum base spacers with a thin film of sealant; 49ccscoot.proboards.com/thread/2250/base-gasket-spacer-fabricationComparing old piston to new is easy by using a piston pin to connect the 2 together and check deck height,etc...

Lightbulb I never thought of sticking pin through both. Marvelous.
I compare hole heights in garage door hinges side by side but didn’t think of this method.
I’m pretty sure the piston breaches the cylinder on purpose. The Stage6 head has a relief area above the mating surface.
Now to take a garage picture. I’m making homemade sloppy Joe mix for a soccer tournament tomorrow. No wrenching has occurred.
