youtu.be/R3UOp7pgcCQGot a video. Issues today, waterpump was not pushing as much water as it did on the ignition. So temps rose to 120c and heard a bit of knock as well in mid throttle when temps reached 89c. But so far after the pump has been reconnected to the ignition i haven't seen temps rise above 78 again. But the benelli feels much different than before. Launch is 100 times better and the wheelies after the clutch disengages is quite addicting.

Sounds great. Real Snappy Lifting the tire . Very nice throttle response with this ignition. Feels like a completely different engine

Very small update. Put a larger 8 ah battery in the compartment area. No longer seeing a drop in voltage, it sticks around 12.1v when running. Now i just need to make a more secure mount. Thinking of a strap to hold the batter against the wall with little plate on the bottom.
Still a little worried about mid throttle sometimes coming off of wot and revving up slowly gives this jumpy feeling that occurs when throttle is initially applied. Could be clip location on the needle so ill do some more test runs and see if that squares that away.

Got a pwk 28 in the mail today from Amazon. Ran the engine around the block a few times but felt the 41 pilot jet was a bit rich. Lots of little sputtering going on. But a little ping i used to hear is gone. So that's a good benefit. Also got a 0-30 run with the mvt and the new carb. Was happy to see the number . But sadly the belt started to really wear out. So i placed an order for replacement one that stage 6 seems to have for their variator set. At size 775 it should work nicely. An the angle is just about right The engine part of this build is kinda at an end. All that's left is a stroker crank (51mm or 52 depending on which one needs more crank work) And some up gears. But before all of that im going to see what the factory gears can do. The last idea i can think of that would benefit the engine besides the crank would be case work, and maybe a retrofitted kt100 exhaust if i can find one cheap enough and someone brave enough to weld it

So after a little break and spending more time tuning.
Here's a little update.
Switched to an keihin oko round slide carb.
Current jetting is 45 pilot 125 main.
Sadly I couldn't test due to stripping the kickstarter, so I've been waiting for replacement to come in the mail.
Also picked up a new airbox from scootertuning. I like it, besides the fact it can fall off easily. I also appreciate how quiet the airbox makes the engine.
So within the week hopefully I'll have news for you guys on how the scooter is running:)

Small update. Finally received my kick starter gear from shipping, still having an issue with the c clip not wanting to stay in place
Received vforce reeds, and installed an oko 28mm carb from an rm80?
Idle seems really rich with a pilot jet of 45, as it won't idle near 2000 rpms as it did with the pwk.
Main jet at 125 with a slight initial bog with no air filter, but I did get a cart style airbox for the intake to make induction sound just a tad bit more quiet, and found I needed to drop the jet from 125 to 122 to stop the engine from 4 stroking
Also backed timing by 2 degrees as during a long wot run I was hearing beans in a can noise coming from the top end.
No damage to the piston was noticed.
Will make an update video when it finally stops raining in Florida.
But also got caught up in 2 other builds that I'll make separate threads for. One is a 94cc malossi cylinder on an aerox block and a short case 90cc for a vento zip I recently got back to running conditions.

Okay. So update and help needed.
I got an oko round slide keihin carb, got it to idle. But problem is my air pilot screw needs to be over 5 turns out before it can idle with the least amount of smoke and without killing the engine after it begins to settling. I believe there's a 41 pilot jet. But anywhere below 5 turns it hunts for an idle and won't relax
Air leaks are checked. So just double checking with you guys. Do you believe it to be the pilot jet just being too big? The 38 pilot worked well on a clone pwk but the clone didn't show much change when using the pilot screw so I got the round slide keihin.
Any ideas or just use smaller pilot?
Mind you there's a lot of spooge coming out at idle and I know the mvt will make it idle higher without dying but with the pwk clone it would idle just 2 to 300 more rpms than stock while with the round slide kehinin it wants to be around 3 to 4k and just dies if anything rpm wants to relax below that for 15 seconds.

I've been running pwk carbs for a long time, they're my favorite. But, they have their down sides. Idle is tough with a big carb (and I'm guessing a free-flowing air filter like mine) so I actually tune mine to idle high, usually between 2500-3000. I also run a smaller pilot (35 pj, 120 main iirc), but I run 21mm or 24mm okos usually. Don't use any of the experience you had with the clone on the ok; they're completely different usually 🤣 the clone I got used a completely different style of main jet than most Keihin carbs (mikuni style haha).

Yeah the genuine keihin round slide was something I'd thought would be easier and an upgrade from a clone. I haven't given it a real test run yet as I've been working on idle, and it definitely seems the 41 pilot is way way too rich as I just found it takes 5.5 turns out to get a decent steady low idle. Going to give a 38 a shot tomorrow. (I also added electric start to help keep more inertia in the crank going so it doesn't die the moment it hits 2500 rpms)

Florida weather makes it really difficult to do a simple test at times. I had off work early yesterday and today and just come home to it raining.
Very frustrating

Lol "nice," Ran out of fuel as well when doing this run but she gets to the 60s quick! Hottest temp achieved was 88.9c so it may be getting hot but darn. I thought dual radiators would keep things cooler but I do have to consider Florida heat and humidity. But during cruising Temps are around 75c to 78c so that's not so bad. 70 is a hair away and I know it:)
