measure your current squish and let us know and then remeasure with just copper spray . hopefully willie678 will chime on in about his set up With that heavy of weights you will put a cap on your peak rpms . Which each 1/2 gram I pick up about 300 rpms with the white contra The yasuni is a pretty wide powerband you are probably on the lower end of it I set my variator to hit 9100-9300 rpms when i hit the throttle wide open and peak at 10 k rpms . Here is my example withe malossi cast and next r notes the yasuni had the similar shift points but ran 500 more rpms over the top of this

That’s about what mine does on the flat wide open. It’ll hit 94-9500 downhill. I’ll play around with the rollers some more but it doesn’t feel any slower that with the 6.5’s. I think I got better acceleration with the factory variator & the zx 4.3 rollers. My belt rode higher up on the rear pulley. I might throw it on with the yasuni just to see. I also tried the yellow contra. I got more rpm but less speed even with 7.5 rollers so I went back to the white. I have ncy torque driver, don’t know if that’s a reason I’m getting better results with heavier weights?

Just minor adjustments if you are hitting 55 mph already . I default to the lightest weights that give me full belt travel so I get best top speed and accelaration. I have never tried the ncy torque driver so I cant help much there .

So I’ve been super busy & hadn’t really ridden the scooter in a few months. I pulled it out today & played around with it. I went from medium clutch springs to hard & back to medium. Not really happy with how it grips as I seem to get some slip before it takes off. I’ve replaced a split 2 shoe with a Chinese 105mm 3 shoe when I got it. I just went ahead & ordered a stage 6 sport pro 107mm & winged bell. Hopefully it bites hard after that. Factory bell has a little over 11,000 miles so it can’t hurt. Fingers crossed.

I also check my squish today & it’s 1.2mm. I’m running a top performance black trophy 70 kit. Is it worth ditching the head gasket & running copper spray to tighten it up?

Copper Spray only works well
I have had to do that with the Athena Sport Cylinder to get squish under 1 mm to get snappier takeoff.

Anyone know which spring location adds tension on the s6 sport pro clutch? I’d assume the top location would make it harder to open but I’m not sure & it doesn’t say anything about it.

This is what I’m talking about if you’re not familiar with this clutch.

So I got the clutch & bell installed. I went with the stage 6 medium springs in the closest in position. They were a huge pain to install! I also ended up moving from the malossi white to yellow contra. I was netting about 3-400rpm less with the new clutch on the old setup. Going to the yellow got me back. New clutch definitely grabs harder. I want to try the other spring position. Also am running 7g rollers so I might try to lighten them a little to see what happens.

Hey everyone it’s been a minute. Scooter has been sitting for the most part but looking to pull it out & tinker some more. What gain can I expect installing a 08 secondary gear? I already have 15/50 gears. A few mph?

You picked up alot going from 14.66 to 12.123 by installing the 15 /50 gears Even though added 21% higher your top speed went up less than 21 % The next increase in gear ratio will give you less dramatic results unless you add more horsepower to cut through the wall of wind. 0-3 mph would be what i would expect

That’s pretty much what I was thinking. I did some tinkering today & swapped out the 7g rollers for 6g. I haven’t messed with the weights since I changed the clutch & contra spring as 7g was the best I had gotten. Well with the new setup 6g gained me about 200rpm & keeps me in the power band better. Seems to keep my factory speedo pegged out where I was losing some momentum going up hills before.

Congrats Your cvt sounds like it is getting real dialed in . You got that revvy responsive weight that gets you the pegged speedo.

I ordered some 5.5g rollers & a v force 3 reed valve. I almost got a crank but figured I’d try to squeak a little more out of the current setup before pulling it apart.

I picked up my girl a Vino so with wanting to kit it I figured it was a perfect time to swap kits on the Zuma & put the top performance on the Vino. Finished up installing a S6 street race & doing a little breaking in. It is definitely more powerful than the top performance black it I have been running. I also had to increase my main a size & it still needs to go up another 1 or 2 as I can get over 350 fairly easily. I was at 104 in my 17.5 dell & will probably end up around 110 now. Cvt needs a little tweaking but it pulls hard & buries the speedo easily.
